ANSWER: The catalog shows the records for this county only go through 1978. See this catalog link: https://familysearch.org/search/catalog/results?count=20&query=%2Bfilm_number%3A2047030 . As you can see there are some additional funeral service records that you could check out if you would like, but the death records are only through 1978. These records would be available on microfilm if you cannot find them online. Click on the blue film # to go to the page that shows how to order the film. The dates shows on the collection are for the entire collection, not just Los Angeles, Los Angeles.{{helpme-helped}}
QUESTION: I have located numerous ancestors in the death index for Los Angeles, Los Angeles, from the years 1941 and 1943. From the index, I acquired a cetificate number. However, there does not seem to be a corresponding "Death Certificate" database for Los Angeles, Los Angeles for those years. In fact, it seems that most of the 1930s and 1940s are missing for "Death Certificates" for this jurisdiction. Will these be scanned at some point and is there another way to acquire the certificates once I have the number?
