FESTIVAL SPOTLIGHT: Fall on the Farm, Pumpkin Nights & Apple Fest

10/15: Fall on the Farm @ Eidem Homestead, Brooklyn Park • 12-3pm • $4-$6/pp, 4 & under free • Family highlights: Join in harvest time, cider pressing, pumpkin carving and more.

10/15-16: Pumpkin Nights @ Minnesota State Fairgrounds, Falcon Heights • Fri-Sat 6:30pm-midnight • $16-20/pp, $64/family packs include 2 adults & 2 kids • Details: A mile-long walking path lined with 3,000 hand-carved pumpkins in 12 themed worlds to create a multi-sensory Halloween experience.

10/15-16: Apple Fest @ Afton Apple Orchard, Hastings • 10am-6pm • $3-$4/pp • Family highlights: Festival admission includes hayrides, cider demos, access to the kids playground and petting farm, and special entertainment.

FALL WEEKEND ROAD TRIP SPOTLIGHT: Oktoberfest in New Ulm, Minnesota

Enjoy the peak of fall colors en route to this south central Minnesota town a couple hours’ drive from the Twin Cities. Oktoberfest in New Ulm, running Oct 14-16 is rocking with a festival, parade and activities reflecting the city’s proud Germanic heritage! Other nearby attractions with a stop for families are the Harkin Store, Schell Brewery Flandrau State Park.
