Newcastle AW Code Breaker
Today the AWR bandwagon rolls into Newcastle. Four handicaps on the card catch my eye. I'll try to decipher the code for today, in as few words as possible. I have about 6 or 7 horses to look at for this on afternoon's card at Newcastle.
❖ Jockeys ❖ The two jockeys I'm relying on are Andrew Mullen ~ who has been riding well at Newcastle this season and the ever consistent Jason Hart.
❖ Trainers ❖ Trainer~wise I am covering 6 trainers today: Jim Goldie ~ Richard Fahey ~ David O'Meara ~ Ben Haslam ~ Charlie Johnston and Antony Brittain.
❖ Draw Bias ❖ The draw bias at Newcastle is non existent, so that'll hopefully make the code a bit simpler to crack. Sometimes a lack of draw bias confuses things though. If there's only 1 horse to focus on per race, because of a decent draw bias in effect, it can actually simplify the selection process.
❖ Bet Selection Considerations ❖
- Anything ridden by Mullen or Hart.
- Anything trained by Jim Goldie, Richard Fahey, David O'Meara, Ben Haslam, Charlie Johnston or Tony Brittain.
- A horse who has both the mentioned trainer and jockey, will most likely be a connection blind bet, if it has 4 legs.
- Watch out for anything thrown in ~ it's saturday ~ some trainers have owners to please on the weekends.
- Solid Newcastle straight track previous form may be important today I feel.
- I will be discounting inexperienced horses in maidens and stakes races ~ handicaps only today.

Newcastle Betting Analysis
2:30 Newcastle ❖ Well here it's the almost blind bet on the Hart/Johnston match up with La Pulga, but at 5/2 he's as short as you like.
In opposition: Mullen is on Molinari at 9/1. Current form and course form might be crucial. #note to self: Be careful not to be greedy.
Danger: beware Donald McCain's Cammarate who looks huge at 14/1.
Conclusion: 5/2 fav La Pulga has to be the bet. There are dangers, but his mark is reasonable and he judging by previous Newcatle C&D form should arguably be even shorter than he is at the moment.

3:40 Newcastle ❖ Neither Beraz or Runninsonofagun inspire me much. Beraz is dropped in trip and could win. Runninsonofagun is an Irish import making his Tapeta debut ~ he could win. I'll let them run.

4:15 Newcastle ❖ Chief Of State or Black Cab? Neither of them have done anything up to now to warrant taking a chance on them over he straight 5f here at Newcastle, even at te huge odds on offer.

4:50 Newcastle ❖ Eva Rosie has won 4 times this year with Jason Hart in the saddle. She has run reasonably over the straight 5f at Newcastle, without really getting into the race, but never with Hart in the saddle. I think at the price on offer, I'll play.
