Based on recommendations from a geotechnical assessment, as of February 25, 2022 Waipi‘o Valley Road is closed to all visitors due to increased risk of slope and roadway failure. It is no longer possible for visitors to access Waipi‘o Valley beyond the overlook whether on foot, horseback, personal vehicle, atv, or on a commercial tour. The closure includes a camping ban.
We remain hopeful the road will re-open in the future to allow visitors to enjoy this magical and historic place.
