Tonight, a week later than initially planned, Hungary held their second heat for A Dal 2017. Ten acts performed tonight, and six have progressed to the next stage of the competition.

Five of tonight’s qualifiers were chosen by an 80/20 jury-public vote, whilst the sixth was chosen purely by televotes. The results were as follows:

“Fall Like Rain” – Gina Kanizsa (Jury vote 37, public vote 5, 42 combined)

“17” – Kállay Saunders Band (Jury vote 35, public vote 7, 42 combined)

“Kill Your Monster” – Peet Project (Jury vote 34, public vote 6, 40 combined)

“Dust In the Wind” – Chase (Jury vote 33, public vote 6, 39 combined)

“Frozen King” – Mrs. Columbo (Jury vote 32, public vote 6, 38 combined)

“Together” – Ádám Szabó (Jury vote 30, public vote 8, 38 combined) [televote qualifier]

“It’s a Riot” – Peter Kovary & The Royal Rebels (Jury vote 30, public vote 6, 36 combined)

“On My Own” – Zoltán Mujahid (Jury vote 29, public vote 7, 36 combined)

“Jártam” – AnnaElza feat. Juli Kása (Jury vote 29, public vote 5, 34 combined)

“I’ve Got a Fire” – Andi Tóth (Jury vote 28, public vote 6, 34 combined)

And so, whilst Gina Kanizsa and Kállay Saunders Band were tied points-wise tonight, Gina won the jury vote whilst Kállay Saunders Band were pulled up by public support. If Kállay Saunders were to win A Dal this year it would be his second time at Eurovision after representing his country in 2014 with “Running” and placing 4th, Hungary’s best placing in the contest.

Next Saturday the final heat of this year’s A Dal will take place, and will feature the following ten songs:

Joci Pápai – “Origo”

Orsi Sapszon – “Hunyd le szemed”

The Couple – “Vége van”

Zävodi + Olivér Berkes – “#háttérzaj”

Kyra Fedor – “Got to Be a Day”

Enikő Muri – “Jericho”

Benjámin Pál – “Father’s Eyes”

Gigi Radics – “See It Through”

Soulwave – “Kalandor”

TOTOVA – “Hosszú idők”

Following this the eighteen that have qualified from the heats will perform in one of two semi-finals on either 10th or 11th February. The final of A Dal will take place on 18th February.
