Last night in Minsk a special party was held to mark the start of the week of Belarus’ Eurovision 2017 national selection.
Last night in Minsk the 13 participants in Belarus’ Eurovision national selection were invited to a party to mark this years national selection. The party which was held in a club in the Belarusian capital saw the participants take part in Karaoke and socialise ahead of the next few days of intense rehearsals for the competition.
The final of Belarus’ selection process takes place this Friday from 20:00 CET. The show will be hosted by Olga Ryzhikova and Teo. Teo represented Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark with the song “Cheesecake”, he finished 16th in the final scoring 43 points. The winner of Belarus’ selection will be decided by 50% public voting and 50% jury voting.

Belarus is one of two countries to be selecting their participant for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 this week. Georgia will also be selecting their entrant on Friday night with the selection beginning at 17:00 CET.

Belarus in the Eurovision Song Contest
Belarus debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 and has made it to the final on four occasions. For the past two years Belarus has failed to make it through to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest, this year IVAN finished 12th in the second semi final, 21 points away from qualification. Belarus’ best result in the contest came in 2007 when Dmitry Koldun finished 6th in the final with a total of 145 points.
