Estonian singer and songwriter Stig Rästa is preparing an entry for the Romanian selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.

Two years ago, Stig Rästa & Elina Born reached the top.10 in the Eurovision Song Contest and we still have a feeling like it was yesterday. Although they were 5th on the televote, they ended up on the 8th position, the juries taking them down and stealing the top 5. Last year, Stig was the composer of his country’s entry “Play” sung by Juuri Pootsman and this year he is back with another track.

According to our sources Stig is preparing an entry with an underground artist a song for Selectia Nationala in Romania. According to the source Stig is the sole author of the song and it is possible that we will see him on stage at the selection. It is rumoured that they recorded the song a few days ago in Tallinn, Estonia. Rästa is quite determined to go to Eurovision again, and maybe with two songs. Elina will be competing in the first semi-final of the Estonian Eesti Laul with a song also composed by Stig.

Also, today TVR announced via Facebook that next week they will give all the details for their national selection which is quite uncommon for them. The television normally ogranises the show in March and gives the details for the song submissions in late January. Last year, TVR was expelled from the Eurovision Song Contest only two weeks before the contest due to serious debts to the European Broadcasting Union and the one who suffered the most was their supposed representative, Ovidiu Anton. The EBU is currently working with TVR to reform the broadcaster.

What do you think? Could Stig Rästa make the first win for Romania? Would it be at least possible that he works with a Romanian vocalist? Let us know in the comments below!
