Our client is part of the Logistics Division of a major Middle East Group and a provider of transport and logistics solutions and services within the Arabian Gulf and throughout The Middle East.They are preparing a tender submission for a new contract with one of their existing clients who is a major oil company.Expressions of interest are now required from qualified candidates for the position of Warehouse Manager to be based in the interior of Oman. The role will be offered on a 2-year renewable contract and can be accompanied status.The contract is to cover warehouse and storage yard operations at a site in the interior (forklifts, cranes, trucks).You will lead a team who will be responsible for the receipt, storage and dispatch of stock, provide simple QC sampling, run the stock control system and progress urgent orders with suppliers.The product to be stored and looked after will be oil tubulars, chemicals and a wide range of engineering spares.The role will probably be on a rotation of 60 days' work and 30 days' rest (including travel) or similar but may vary with seniority. Rest days can be spent in Oman or back in home location.The contract would be initially for two years (as per Omani work visas) but they are also looking for staff who may wish to base themselves in Oman for career purposes. Knowledge and Skills:To meet this exceptional challenge, you will be a Warehouse Manager, ideally with experience in 3rd party logistics but our client is open minded as to your background.Experience of the oil and gas sector is not necessary.Relevant military, engineering or oil field experience would be useful.Our client is very supportive towards the ex-military community and the company employs a number of ex - military UK personnel.With outstanding leadership ability and a strong customer focus, you will have the confidence to win credibility and make an effective contribution.Your work experience should ideally be supported by a qualification in a logistics or operational doctrine.You should have a strong health and safety background.You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner, work to tight deadlines and pay attention to the detail.Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.Finally, you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC / IT literate. An international driving licence would be very useful.Opportunities within this client are excellent in a country which has strong historical connections with the UK. The locals are therefore very warm and friendly to ex-pats particularly the Brits.Basic salary will be in a range of around £40-50k tax free. In addition, a management bonus scheme will be in operation.
