Our client is a nationwide vehicle hire and fleet management company. Spanning across cars, commercial vehicles as well as ATV’s, our clients diverse, specialist fleet together with national coverage and flexible packages deliver an unbeatable customer driven range of services.
Our client is now seeking a Minibus Driver (D1) at their depot in Gloucestershire. The position is permanent.
You will drive company vehicles in a safe, fuel efficient manner complying with all company and national legislation governing driving in the UK and abroad if necessary.
You must understand that you are an ambassador for our client both on the road and at their customer sites and therefore represent their values and reputation.
You will conduct a daily walk around check of your vehicle.
You will bring to the attention of the lead driver or Depot Manager’s attention any defects found.
You will ensure all such defects that make the vehicle non-compliant are rectified before further use
You will ensure any warning stickers and safety equipment fitted to the vehicle to protect vulnerable road users are in place and recorded in the defect book.
You will ensure your vehicle is clean and tidy at all times.
You will ensure that your load is secure and not a hazard to other road users.
You will drive responsibly, plan your routes to lessen the impact on the local community.
You will ensure you have all the necessary paperwork, customer contact details and delivery collection criteria before you leave your Depot.
You will ensure that you wear at all times PPE that complies with both our client and customer protocols when on site.
You will ensure that your clothing is in good condition and that your appearance be smart at all times.
You will bring to the attention of the Depot Manager at the earliest opportunity any driving infractions that would bring our client into disrepute with their customers, the local community or legislative bodies.
You will be checking and noting down any damage found on vehicles you have been asked to collect from customers, ensuring you obtain a signature from the customer on the off hire ticket accepting the damage and/or an excessively dirty vehicle.
Finally, you will ensure that the off hire ticket is marked appropriately if there is no-one to sign for the vehicle; advising the appropriate person as soon as possible at your Depot when a vehicle has been returned with damage/excessive cleaning required.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished Minibus Driver (D1) and ensure you hold the correct Driving Licence Category appropriate to be vehicles driven
You will hold a Driver CPC if driving vehicles that require it.
You will have a good understanding of both EU and UK domestic Driving regulations.
You will have good demonstrable evidence of driving experience with at least 1 full years in that licence group.
You will have excellent customer care skills.
You will have a good standard of both written and spoken English
You will have a tenacious, enthusiastic, and flexible disposition
You will be a good self-starter with the ability to multi-task
You will have the ability to work well under pressure
You will be a well organised individual with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
You will have the ability to work well as part of a team, and also under your own initiative when required.
Basic salary is between £7.20 per hour based on a 40 hour contract but you will actually work a 45 hour week Monday – Friday 8am – 5.30pm with Saturday mornings until 12 when required. You will receive 20-22 days’ holiday plus bank and public holidays plus company pension and free site parking.
