So first of all, please check out all the photos on this listing, because in September 2016 I actually got to visit the factory where this Japanese Katazome paper is made, and learn to make it myself! This Katazome paper comes straight from Japan, so it's very special.

Katazome (cat-ah-zoh-meh) is the Japanese name for this special handmade paper with colorful textile patterns that first became popular in the 1800's and was used for as gift wrap in the royal court. The paper is printed with a glue stencil that washes off under hot water - every single sheet is printed and washed by hand.

This summer I had the once in a lifetime experience of appearing on Japanese reality TV to visit the factory where I've been purchasing this paper from for the last 10 years, and I even got to make some! That's me in the photo above, putting ink onto the paper with a silk screen stencil - read all about it at : www.bit.ly/JapanShow1

Measurements: 4.5"x6"
Pages: 160 (front and back)

It has dense bookboard covers that won't warp even in the most humid of climates. It contains 160 pages of gorgeous speckled creamy filler paper that I'm so excited about! It's made by a family-owned paper mill called French Paper Co. in Michigan that makes only 100% recycled papers using earth-friendly hydro-electric power.

Photos don't do this gorgeous book justice, I promise you'll love it even more in real life. The colorful covers are made from layers of paint, and you can feel them under your fingertips.

This beautiful journal can have many uses, and makes a great gift for writers, artists, students, musicians, book lovers and anyone who appreciates gorgeous paper.
