Thousands of institutions around the world use the Web of Science Core Collection every day.  Many also use its high-quality metadata outside of the platform for various purposes. When researchers need to study science, technology, and innovation trends, they turn to the Web of Science Core Collection as the only comprehensive citation source to provide over 100 years of consistent, global publication data.  Researchers can receive large datasets in XML and other formats to combined with other data sources and to use in statistical, networking, and visualization tools.  The same curated metadata are also used to enhance institutional systems like IRs and VIVO via APIs. Using our APIs, an institution can retrieve its publication records from over 17,000 high-impact journals in one place, making it the ideal source to populate researcher publication lists in VIVO or add time cited counts to your IR.  We will discuss these alternative uses of Web of Science Core Collection through customer case studies.
