Geneva will host a two-day WordCamp Geneva 2016 from 18th to 19th November 2016. The local WordPress community in the Geneva is extremely excited to be the part of this knowledge oriented informal symposium. This camp will comprise different sessions including Lectures, Workshops and sprint code. WordCamp Geneva will offer 20 sessions conducted by various industries expert on topics related to WordPress development, designing, and content strategies. The attendees will come across enjoyable After Party session.

Day 1 – 18th November 2016, Friday
The Day 1 of the camp will be open at 8:00 AM with Registration Session. Followed by this will be Opening Session. The day 1 of the camp will be dedicated to the Workshops and conferences. These Workshops and Conferences will be held in two different tracks. Here’s the detailed timeline of the event:
Track A – Conferences/Sessions
Alexandre Bortolotti will tell the ways to teach WordPress to clients. Along with this, the speaker will give the list of 10 metaphors to beginners to understand the WordPress jargons easily.
In the next session, Pierre-André Vullioud will tell campers about the basic of REST API. He will reveal the ways to code a WordPress plugin to extend the WP REST API. The attendees will come across the smart ways to organise their files and classes.
After this, Frédérique Game will talk about Theme Designs along with Typeface and Typography. The speaker will teach about how typography can uplift the look and the feel of the website.
Next will be the short Morning Break from 10:25 AM to 10:45 AM.
Post morning break, Evren Kiefer will talk about different Content strategy tools for different WordPress Projects. In this session, the campers will learn unique ways to create strategic statements and content models.
Next to this, Nick Weisser will conduct conference regarding WooCommerce and Bitcoin. In this session, the attendees will get a detailed information about blockchain technology behind Bitcoin and other crypto currencies.
The next conference will be undertaken by Thierry Muller. He will tell the reasons behind why code quality matters a lot.
Next to this will be the Lunch Break from 12:30 to 13:30. Here, campers could reload themselves with some delicious food while knowing other attendees.
Post Lunch Break, Piotr Soluch will share his personal experience and tell the different ways to run a WordPress company.
In the next conference, Jesper van Engelen will take campers through the different ways to uplifting the WordPress backend experience with the help of plugins and custom code.
Post Afternoon break (15:10 – 15:30), Silvan Hagen will conduct a session for beginners and novice programmers. The speaker will give the detailed picture of WP REST API.
In the next session, the campers will come across Pascal Birchler’s session. In this session, the speaker will cover all recent improvements to i18n (internationalization) and l10n (localization) in WordPress 4.6 and upcoming versions.
Followed by this will be the Panel Session. This session will cover that what is missing in WordPress.
Track B – Workshop & Conferences
The first Workshop session will be headed by Benjamin Lupu. This Workshop will help attendees to create mobile app easily by using JavaScript, HTML, CSS and WP-AppKit.
In the next session, Sylvie Clement will tell the step by step process to customise the BuddyPress community website.
Next to this will be the Lunch Break from 12:30 to 13:30. Here, campers could reload themselves with some delicious food while knowing other attendees.
Post lunch break, Stephan Zurfluh will talk in detail about Search Engine Advertising.
The next workshop session will be organised by Manuela van Prooijen. She will reveal her top 10 strategies to create a happy and loyal customers.
After a day full of conferences & Workshops, the campers will be invited to the After Party session held at The Mon Rêve Restaurant, Rue de Bâle 14, 1201 Genève, Switzerland.
Day 2 – 19th November 2016 – Saturday
Contribution Day
The second and the last day of this WordCamp Geneva will be dedicated to Code Sprint. This session can be attended by anyone of you, it is not necessary for the attendee to be a developer or a designer to contribute for WordPress.
If you have never contributed to WordPress before, this place is the best place where you can bank upon.
Schedule of the Contribution Day:
The Contributor Day will start at 10:00 AM and wrap up by 17:00. This session will be held at CREA Genève, Route des Acacias 43, 1227 Genève, Switzerland.
Note – Make sure that campers should present at 10:00 AM as organisers will introduce the team leaders and the room that each team would be using for brainstorming and work.
