The city of Toronto will conduct a WordCamp on 6th and 7th August. The camp will focus on providing knowledge to people of various skills levels. It is going to be a great event.

Schedule:

Day 1 – 6th August 2016 – Saturday

The Registration session will begin at 8:00 AM. Campers will serve with the coffee and the light breakfast. This session will give them a chance to interact with different Drupal lovers. Followed by this will be an Opening Remarks session.

All the further sessions will be held at five different venues. Here’s the timeline of the sessions of Day 1.

Venue A – Auditorium

David Mackey & Tamara MacDuff will show how SEO mindset has changed and how to incorporate the new mindset into the WordPress design & content Strategy.

In the next session, Jai Sangha will give an overview of two major eCommerce WordPress plugins, WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads, set up a payment-ready online store using WooCommerce.

Post Catered Lunch break, David Vogelpohl will give an overview into some techniques to build WordPress sites fine tuned for conversions and optimized for online marketing.

Next to this, Cory Miller will be sharing his experiences. Along with this, the speaker will give some tips to manage the highs and lows in business and life.

Post afternoon break, John Eckman will show what’s wrong with the traditional approach to requirements definition and how a more proactive approach generates better results.

In the next session, Henri-R Brisard will cover the most common and lowest hanging fruit of performance bottle necks in the web.

Venue 2 – RM 1-073

Seth Alling will talk about Fixing a Hacked Site. He will cover basic things like cause of a hack, how to plan to remove the hack, how to remove hacks from a site or server.

In the next session, Dustin Meza will show the best practices for ensuring the site is ready including a simple strategy.

Next to this, Tracy Apps will share some of her tips for holistic designing. Along with this, she will also look at strategy and a little development.

Followed by this, Taras Mankovski will teach the ways to setup a WordPress site that exposes JSONAPI compliant REST API.

In the last session of this track is conducted by Andy McIlwain. Campers will explore a bunch of free tools and WordPress plugins that’ll help them level up their content creation efforts.

Venue 3 – RM 1-147

Anthony D Paul will distill his background in usability research into a how-to framework for taking the site and conducting a first unmoderated usability test.

In the next session, Billy Gregory will nurture camper’s passion and boost their confidence by sharing some important lessons about accessibility.

Next to this, Florian Gottschall will give the tips to put videos in a way that a lot of people will watch your content.

After this, Vova Feldman will share a few simple methods of collecting usage data and feedback from plugin users.

Venue 4 – RM 1-149

Jacques Surveyer will talk about Javascripting in WordPress. Along with this, the speaker will cover the ways of using JSON to get at special delivery data.

In the next session, Paul Bearne will show campers about how to use the WP JSON API to add our own end-point for a custom post type.

Post lunch break, Bryan Cady will explain what a custom post type and custom field is and the importance of using it.

Next to this, Ian Edington will teach campers about how to run a production ready WordPress instance on a docker cluster.

Venue 5 – RM 1-003

Day 2 – 7th August 2016 – Sunday

Venue 1 – Auditorium

Brian Rotsztein will teach about the latest definitive aspects of what it means to be a successful blogger.

In the next session, Michelle Ames will provide campers with some great tips and tricks for them to make working with WordPress even easier.

Next to this, Michelle Arbore will show why campers should write a blog for their business, what to do first, and how to draw traffic.

Venue 2 – RM 1-073

Christina Varro will look at strategy, tools and workflow to manage multiple WordPress sites and keep everything up to date.

In the next session, Meagan Hanes will conduct a contribution sprint. In this session, campers will learn the best ways to Contributing to WordPress.

Next to this, Melanie Martin will conduct a seminar session and will take campers step-by-step through the keys to effective email marketing.

Venue 3 – RM 1-147

Rick Radko will introduce audiences to a few page builders and some examples of what can create with them.

In the next session, Lauren Jeffcoat will discuss the impact that a video library can have on the website.

Next to this, Brian Messenlehner will cover how to go about migrating data from various open source and proprietary web-based applications into WordPress.

Venue 4 – RM 1-149

Shawn Hooper will guide campers through tips and tricks to make your code efficient, safe, and easy to read.

In the next session, Tom Auger will walk you through the process of defining and prioritizing User Groups.

Next to this, Alan Lok will teach the basics of Ansible and how it integrates with WordPress and ways to structure the deployments.

Venue 5 – RM 1-003

Contrib2Core Session will be held at 11:00 AM. This session will be undertaken by Paul Bearne, Thiago Loureiro, Ian Edington & Guests and will end at 4:00 PM. Followed by this, the day will end at 4:00 PM with Closing Remarks held at Auditorium.
