Montpellier is going to become the favorite city of the Drupal developers for over a week. 7 amazing days of sprints, sessions and presentations starting from 13th of April will help you to grasp some amazing information on Drupal. Along with it, it is a great time to build your networks too.

Session Schedule:

Sprints:

As the community is working hard for the final release of Drupal 8.0, Sprints are going to be an integral part of this event. The sprints room will be opened all seven days from 9:00am to 6:00 pm. As there will be a number of highly experienced Drupal developers attending this event, these sprints can play a key role in bringing the release of Drupal8.0 closer. It is a great opportunity for individuals who wish to contribute to the Drupal community. The great news is that you can add any topic of your choice and can even become a lead at these sprints.

BOFs:

One another highlight of Drupal Developer Days is the BOF sessions that will be held from Monday to Friday. It is a great chance for the attendees to submit sessions of their choice.

The three days of this 7-day event will have a number of sessions. The details are mentioned below:

Thursday, 16th April:

The registration will begin at 9:00 followed by which the keynote session will be held. Angie Byron will be conducting the keynote session on the evolution of Drupal Community.

Further sessions will be conducted at three different places:

AMPHI 1:

Leon Cros will give an overview of the numerous migration tools that will help a website to successfully migrate to Drupal8. Next to this will be a presentation on the Drupal8 entity API.  Lauri Eskola will guide the audience to use Twig for better theme development. Followed by this, the audience will come to know about some of the Cache invalidation strategies with the Varnish Cache. The line of sessions in this place will end with a talk on the accessibility of Drupal websites.

AMPHI 2:

Timm Jansen will conduct the first session here speaking on the advantages that SiteEffect offers regarding Drupal development. Next will be a case study on Drupal 8. After an amazing lunch, Michael Schmid will be speaking on Drupal Development practices with Drush, Docker, Vagrant, and Ansible. In the last session, the audience will get a walkthrough on some of the most common migration pitfalls of Drupal7.

AMPHI 3:

In the first half, there will be a workshop which will help attendees to know about the new Display Suite API’s in detail. Post-lunch Gilles Guirand will be speaking on web performance optimization. Next session will be on the implementation of coding standards in Drupal 8 and how it will make things easy. The last session will be conducted by Federico Razzoli where he will conduct a presentation on MariaDB.

Friday, 17th April:

The keynote session will be conducted by Alexis Monville where he will share tips on how to be happy at work. Like Thursday, the sessions on this day will be also conducted at three different places:

AMPHI 1:

Romain Jarraud will be discussing on the Drupal8 theming. Next will be a presentation on front-end automation to Drupal. Post-lunch will be a discussion by Thomas Seidl on the Search API in Drupal8. Next to this will be a brainstorming talk on the security improvements in Drupal8. After a 30-minute break, there will be an introductory session on Vagrant and Ansible. The last session will be on the model of organization of Drupal structures.

AMPHI 2:

The first session will be on rewriting contributed modules for Drupal 8. Rodrigo Aguilera will speak on the process of code review. In the next session, campers will learn about Commerce 2.x. Followed by this, will be a presentation on Responsive Images in Drupal 8. The last session will be conducted by Bart Feenstra revolving around the topic of Payment Processing for Drupal 8.

AMPHI 3:

The first session will be on the major pitfalls of JavaScript for backend developers. In the next presentation, the audience will know about the Commerce Marketplace module suite. The last session will be focused on the #d8rules initiative.

Saturday will also have some interesting sessions like the other two days.

Drupal Developer Days will be an exciting event and that will not last for just one-two days. It is a gala that will continue for a week. Do not miss to attend this event!!
