Why did you attend UW-Madison?
As soon as I walked on to campus my Senior year of high school, I just knew that UW-Madison was the place I wanted to be. Madison gave me everything I wanted in a college experience. I wanted to be a dairy science major, and Madison had an excellent program. I wanted to be very involved in extracurriculars, Madison was known for its many clubs, especially the ones that are agriculture related. And I wanted to be able to network not only with my peers, but also with the many incredible dairy industry leaders, and I knew Madison would give me that opportunity.
What has been your most memorable college experience?
My favorite memory from college is working at World Dairy Expo as a chair. I met many of my closest friends, networked with staff and exhibitors, and built leadership skills.
What has been your favorite course?
I have really enjoyed Dairy Science 233 and 234. They are both classes focusing more on herd management. Since I plan on returning to my family’s dairy farm, these classes allowed me to focus on the skills that I will need as a dairy farmer and business owner.
What are your future career goals?
Right after school, I plan to choose a career where I focus on grazing and herd management. Further in the future, I will return to my family’s 120 jersey cow farm to eventually take over the business.
