The WESG Europe Qualifiers continue throughout the rest of the month. Thus far, Serbian team LVLUP has secured a spot in Kiev, in the Adriatic qualifier. Team Romania (featuring ComeWithMe, Ar1sE, bOne7, Masakary, and iLLusionisT) seized their spot for Kiev after cruising through the South-East Europe qualifier.

The Central European qualifiers begin today, September 7th, while Sweden’s completely stacked qualifiers are scheduled to start tomorrow, on September 8th. One team from Central Europe and two teams from Sweden will advance to the offline regional qualifiers in Kiev, Ukraine, in October.

Team Romania – featuring Alexandru “ComeWithMe” Crăciunescu, Armand “bOne7” Pittner, Ionuț “Ar1sE” Turtoi, Cosmin “Masakary” Nechifor, and Răzvan “iLLusionisT” Borceanu – seized the spot in the offline finals in Kiev, Ukraine for the South-East Europe region. They cruised through the brackets without a single loss, sweeping through the all-Greek squad BroodMothers, 2:0, in the Grand Finals.

Serbian team LVLUP – featuring Stefan “pwN” Pavlovic from TBE, Konstantin “kole” Jancetovic and Viktor “Buktop” Knezevic (both former mYi players) – will also be present in Kiev to represent their nation and the Adriatic region.

The Central European qualifiers begin today with teams from Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Austria.

The star bursting Swedish qualifiers will kick off tomorrow. In addition to known teams such as Team Doge and IKEA, Jonathan “Loda” Berg and Jerry “EGM” Lundkvist have stacked up with Simon “Handsken” Haag and Jonas “jonassomfan” Lindholm; Joakim “Akke” Akterhall has joined forces with Gustav “s4” Magnusson and Linus “Limmp” Blomdin; Niklas “Wagamama” Högström and Johan “Mynuts” Andersson are registered as partners in Foxes.

Eleven more regions are scheduled throughout the rest of the month. A total of 20 teams will fly to Kiev, Ukraine, for the offline European and CIS qualifiers scheduled for October 6th-9th.



Back in March, Alisports announced a new tournament – WESG (World Electronic Sports Games). The event was reported to feature various disciplines, including Dota 2 and CS:GO, with $1.5 million prize pools each – boasting a $5.5 million total prize fund across all the gaming divisions featured. The LAN Finals are set to take place in Shanghai, China, in December.

The Swedish Qualifiers will take place between September 8th-11th, featuring only teams from Sweden. Two teams will advance to the offline qualifiers in Kiev.

Most notable teams include Team Doge and IKEA – two regional teams that have had a strong presence in the minor European tournaments over the last month.

Expenses related to travelling and accommodation of players are covered.
