The Game Awards 2016 have released the list of nominees of games, teams and individuals for “creative and technical excellence”.

This year, Dota 2 has received the nod in 2 different categories: Wings Gaming for Best Esports team and Dota 2 for Best Esports Game.

Wings have received a spate of recognition and awards lately. Last week, the team was nominated for the prestigious Laureus Awards, alongside well known athletes and sports teams from across the world. Wings also received a certificate from the Guiness World Records for winning the largest single prize in esports – $9,139,002.

The Game Awards, created by Geoff Keighley, is an annual awards ceremony to honor outstanding artistic, technical and gameplay achievements in the video game industry. Spanning console, mobile and PC gaming, as well as eSports, The Game Awards is the first of a new breed of award shows, built from the ground up exclusively for global digital and streaming platforms.

A panel of judges from 29 international publications selected the nominees for The Game Awards 2016. Eight esports-focused outlets assisted in the selection of the nominees for the categories, the awards for which will be determined by fan vote.

Games had be released on or before Nov. 24, 2016 to be eligible for the award.

Winners will be revealed live at The Game Awards 2016 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and via livestream HERE on various platforms.

Cast your vote HERE for both Dota 2 and Wings Gaming!
