OPTIONS Family & Behavior Services is dedicated to providing a person centered therapeutic rehabilitation journey to all individuals and their families with mental illness, chemical dependency and/or brain injuries.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of the Behavior Technician is to guide, teach and support adolescents within the day program setting. This position will perform direct work with the adolescents, document client information, and provide support to the treatment teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct Client Work
Implement behavior plans, strategies, and interventions by working directly with adolescents.   Observe, assist and record adolescent behavior issues during various activities. Manage crisis situations as needed.  Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Managing check-in and check-out of clients, which may include: taking attendance, checking pockets, and providing tours to new clients.

Supporting groups, including recovery skills and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy groups and assisting with the management of the behavior of the adolescents during groups.

Leading or assisting in group therapy, skills groups or any other intervention required.

Providing hands-on behavior management and facilitating aggression replacement training (ART).

Monitoring client lunchtime, assigning client lunch chores, and ensuring completion of chores.

Monitoring breaks throughout the day and transition group sessions.

Assisting with random supervised urinary analysis screening tests.

Conducting client attendance and individual check-ins daily.

Providing transportation clients for treatment as necessary.

Support Services
Provide supportive services for the program staff.  Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Ensuring the building, pods and offices are cleaned on a daily basis, which includes keeping the cleaning spray bottle and paper towels refilled, print the daily attendance sheet, etc.

Restocking the break room, bathroom, and client lunchroom areas.

Occasionally cleaning out the staff break room and client lunch room refrigerator.

Printing off documents for clients folders.

Maintain the cleanliness of all offices and common areas throughout the work day and as needed.

Documentation
Upload client files, assist with intakes and discharges, and enter required information into DAANES. Duties may include, but not limited to:

Updating client binders and uploading documents into Procentive as needed.

Entering UA result information into Procentive and Dominion daily.

Entering data into the Department of Human Services treatment tracking system (DAANES).

Working with the front desk in order to coordinate transportation for school holidays.

Using Procentive at all times to write and update progress notes.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Completes all other duties as assigned.
