You’ve probably read the title and thought, I’m sure they’ve got that wrong!? Tea?! Well, yes. Tea! Tea rinses for your hair appear to be the up and coming hair treatment that A-Listers are loving at the moment. The good news is that it doesn’t break the bank, so we can all get in on the hair treatment, too!

Okay so tea rinses can have different affects on your hair due to the ingredients used. Below are our fave 3 tea rinses which we think totally transform your hair. You have to try these out!

Anti-Dandruff and Hair Growth Tea

To achieve the perfect anti-dandruff and hair growth tea be sure to use green tea, which is an excellent rinse for fighting dandruff and stimulating growth. Green tea works to nourish your scalp and protects it from dandruff, bacteria, fungus, and sun damage. Black tea is also a good alternative to use, but green tea offers more antioxidants and nutrients which in turn, means healthier hair. Studies have also proven black tea’s success at treating hair loss. The caffeine works to penetrate the hair follicles and encourages growth.

Recipe:

Brew a strong cup of caffeinated green tea using 2 tea bags and 2 cups of boiling water. Allow the tea to cool down to lukewarm before using. Store in a spray bottle.

Psst - you can add *1 tablespoon of honey for more benefits (softness and shine) too!

How To Use:

Cleanse your hair with shampoo or a cleansing conditioner and leave your hair to air dry until damp. Spray the tea onto your scalp and massage throughout hair. Cover your hair with a plastic cap, leaving the tea in your hair for up to 30 minutes. Then, rinse out with cold water.

Hair Shade Enhancing Tea

To enhance the shade of your hair we’re loving chamomile tea. This can be used on any hair color and it is ah-mazing for brightening blonde hair, it will even enhance your highlights, too. This flowery tea is also known for being a scalp-soothing and hair-softening conditioner, total bliss. Redheads should go for red teas like rooibos or hibiscus and black tea and rosemary tea are great for deepening darker hair shades.

Have you noticed that you’re losing clumps of hair every time you style? Then this ani-shed tea may be the solution for you. The main reason behind hair loss is a hormone called Dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Black tea contains caffeine which works to block DHT, allowing your strands to flourish in endless growth. In addition, black tea is also known for thickening and strengthening hair, too. Need we say more?

FYI:

Tea rinses don’t have to be a part of your everyday hair care routine, but it’s good to treat your tresses to some pampering every now and then. But, if you’re trying to enhance your hair shade using the Hair Shade Enhancing Tea, try doing a tea rinse once or twice every week.

Would you give a tea rinse a go? :)
