Cabo da Roca Lighthouse, Portugal
The Cabo da Roca Lighthouse is a beacon/lighthouse located 165 metres above the Atlantic Ocean, on Portugal’s most westerly extent.
The initiative to construct the lighthouse came from the Junta Geral da Fazenda do Reino on 1 February 1758, in an order to construct six lighthouses strategically throughout the country to assist navigation. Cabo da Roca lighthouse began operating in 1772, becoming the third oldest lighthouse along the Portuguese coast.

Cape Henlopen, United States
Cape Henlopen is the southern cape of the Delaware Bay along the Atlantic coast of the United States. Off the coast on the bay side are two lighthouses, called the Harbor of Refuge Light and the Delaware Breakwater East End Light. Cape Henlopen, originally spelled Cape Hinlopen (after its namesake Thijmen Jacobsz Hinlopen who was a prominent Dutch trader), was New Netherland’s most southern border on the 37th parallel north.

Chichester, United Kingdom
Chichester is a cathedral city in West Sussex, in South-East England. Chichester Harbour is a large natural harbour to the south west of the city of Chichester on the Solent. It straddles the boundary of West Sussex and Hampshire. Geographically it is a ria. It is one of four natural harbours in that area of the coastline. Chichester Harbour is one of the few remaining undeveloped coastal areas in Southern England and remains relatively wild. Its wide expanses and intricate creeks are at the same time a major wildlife haven and among some of Britain’s most popular boating waters.

Constanța, Romania
Constanța , historically known as Tomis, is the oldest continuously inhabited city in Romania. The Port of Constanța is the largest on the Black Sea and the 18th largest in Europe. The favourable geographical position and the importance of the Port of Constanța is emphasized by the connection with two Pan-European transport corridors: Corridor VII – Danube and Corridor IV. The two satellite ports, Midia and Mangalia, located not far from Constanța Port, are part of the Romanian maritime port system under the coordination of the Maritime Ports Administration SA.

Kuantan, Malaysia
Kuantan is the state capital of Pahang, Malaysia. It is near the mouth of the Kuantan River and faces the South China Sea. In its early days, it was known as Kampung Teruntum. Early primary economic activities included fishing and small businesses. Today, one of its major economic activities is tourism. Domestically, it is famous for the production of handicrafts, batik, and salted fish. Trade and commerce are important in the economy of the town. The timber industry, ice cream and the fishing industry also play major roles in the local economy.

Millbrook, United Kingdom
Millbrook is a suburb and former civil parish of Southampton. The village stands at the mouth of the river Test or Anton. It was known at Domesday as Melebroc, and had formerly, by means of the Andover Canal, a considerable trade in corn, malt, coal, and timber. It has a post and money order office under Southampton.

Sarandë, Albania
Sarandë is a town and municipality in Vlorë County, southern Albania. In antiquity the city was known by the ancient Greek name of Onchesmos or Anchiasmos and was inhabited by the Greek tribe of the Chaonians. Given its coastal access and Mediterranean climate, Sarandë has become an important tourist attraction since the fall of communism in Albania. Tourism is thus the major economic resource, while other resources include services, fisheries and construction. Since 2012, the Port of Saranda is undergoing an expansion to accommodate cruise ships at its terminal.

Seattle, United States
The Port of Seattle is a port district that runs Seattle’s seaport and airport. Among its facilities are the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in SeaTac (Washington), the Shilshole Bay Marina, the Maritime Industrial Center and Fishermen’s Terminal on Salmon Bay, cargo terminals and a grain elevator on Smith Cove, as well as numerous cargo terminals on Elliott Bay, Harbor Island, and the Duwamish Waterway. The Port of Seattle also controls recreational and commercial moorage facilities and two cruise ship terminals.

Singapore, Republic of Singapore
The Port of Singapore refers to the collective facilities and terminals that conduct maritime trade handling functions in harbours and which handle Singapore’s shipping. Currently the world’s second-busiest port in terms of total shipping tonnage, it also trans-ships a fifth of the world’s shipping containers, half of the world’s annual supply of crude oil, and is the world’s busiest transshipment port. The Port of Singapore is not a mere economic boon, but an economic necessity because Singapore is lacking in land and natural resources. The Port is critical for importing natural resources, and then later re-exporting products after they have been refined and shaped in some manner, for example wafer fabrication or oil refining to generate revenue.

Spijkenisse, Netherlands
Spijkenisse is a town and former municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. After an administrative reform in 2015 it is part of the municipality of Nissewaard.
