Epic Games has won a lawsuit against Fortnite player Sebastian Araujo, who used cheats to win $6,850 across 839 tournaments. The court ordered him to pay $175,000 in damages and legal fees after he ignored the lawsuit, resulting in a default judgment. Araujo used hardware spoofers and fake accounts to bypass anti-cheat systems. Epic will donate the recovered funds to the Child’s Play charity. This marks another example of Epic’s aggressive stance on competitive cheating, following a similar case earlier this year. The player is now permanently banned from Fortnite, reinforcing Epic’s message: cheating comes with serious consequences.
