Making the Right Moves to Build Wealth

It seems that everyone these days is trying to find the quickest way to amass their own “little” pot of gold. The more “PC” way of saying it these days is build wealth. Many of us products of the 1980’s remember the image Gordon Gekko in the movie Wall Street. Money and material things often, in our minds, equates to wealth and happiness. There are however, seems to be something missing.

Wealth Leaves Clues

There is a book that was introduced to me by my coaching company, Buffini & Company, which sums up a thought on wealth and how to build it – The Richest Man in Babylon by George S Clason. First written over 90 years ago (in 1926), this book provides simple, yet profound ideology to building wealth. Here are some takeaway points to consider:

Pay yourself first

Start small by putting 10% of all your income into savings

Make saving automatic

Keep expenses the same even if you get a raise or make more income

Make your money work for you

Earn more on investments

Reinvest Dividends

Create passive income

Be patient – although you may not see movement on your investments immediately, patience will get you to the promised land

This, along with other simple steps, can make a huge difference to your future. If you have an opportunity to read this book, please do.
