Britons love getting a slice of Spain.

In fact, of the 46,000 homes in that country sold to foreigners last year, the largest group of buyers was British. Mark Stücklin, a Spanish real estate business expert writes on his site, Spanish Property Insight, that British buyers were responsible for 21 percent of the purchases by foreigners in 2015, pushing foreign demand for property in Spain to a record high.

We’ve looked before at property and investment consultants, individual estate agents and real estate companies that might be helpful if you’re looking for an investment opportunity in Spain. This time, we’re listing 14 Spanish property estate agents and experts who are based in the UK.

Pinto International

This UK company is privately owned and specialises in the Spanish property market. Fluent in Spanish and with more than 30 years experience in Spain, Pinto International offers both local knowledge of the market as well as a British perspective on owning property there.

On his blog, for instance, owner Keith Grainger gives his opinion about the UK leaving the EU, saying that whatever happens Britain won’t abandon Europe, nor would it be in Spain’s interest for the large contingent of British property owners to sell their Spanish holdings.

When we asked Grainger for a top tip he’d give Spanish property buyers, he said: “We always advise our investors that a cheap property in a poor location will always remain exactly that. What you need to find is quality with value for money, for which you need to seek professional, experienced advice.”

Unique Living

If you’re specifically interested in finding (or selling) a luxury property in Spain, Unique Living may be your estate agent. Headquartered in London, the company has international teams in local offices across Southern Europe, including Barcelona and Costa del Sol. The independent company, founded in 2002 by Serge Cowan and Sophie Hammond, was established specifically to serve investors seeking high-end properties in prestigious European destination markets.

Spanish Dream Property

This family owned and operated estate agency is based in Norfolk. Dave and Bev, who own property in Spain themselves, use that experience when helping clients across the UK and Ireland with their own purchases of Spanish real estate. Their portfolio focuses on Costa Blanca and Costa Calida, and once you’ve decided on properties you’d like to see, personalised viewing trips with Spanish Dream Property partners in Spain can be arranged

Sunseeking Europe

Another family-run estate agent, Sunseeking Europe is based in Bury St Edmunds. The Spanish property specialists have lived part time in Competa, near Malaga, since 1995, and they founded the company in 2006. The online agency matches home buyers and investors with reputable, long-standing estate agents in Spain.

Simply Overseas

With more than 30 years’ experience selling property in mainland Spain, Tenerife and Cyprus, this Shropshire-based couple owns both Spanish and Cypriot real estate. Operating as Simply Overseas, they’ve been involved in the overseas property market since 1983.

In Spain, their focus is properties listed along the Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca, Costa Almeria, Costa Calida, and Murcia. Their years of personal experience come through in their newsletters on living in Spain.

Hamptons International

This global property company with some 85 offices worldwide has an extensive portfolio of international properties. When you are interested in properties in a specific region in Spain, you’ll be connected with an estate agency that works in partnership with Hamptons International. For example, MP Dunne Properties, a luxury estate agency, is its partner in Marbella, handling properties there as well as in Costa del Sol.

M&M Global Group

A British investment company, M&M Global Group acts as an overseas property agent offering real estate in Barcelona, Marbella, Murcia and Mallorca. When you use their services to purchase a property, you can also arrange inspection visits and obtain legal, financial and tax advice.

Home España

Founded by Kieran Byrne in 2002, estate agent Home España has its sales office in London. The company has eight branches throughout Spain, including in Alicante, Murcia and Valencia. The independently owned company works with Rightmove, a major online real estate portal based in the UK that provides services as its regional partner for the Costa Blanca area.

Rightmove

The UK’s largest property portal, Rightmove currently lists more than 80,000 properties in Spain alone. The Overseas Property blog is a great feature of the site: Its articles cover insider chats with real estate agents, overviews of sought-after areas such as Costa Brava, and thoughts on retiring abroad.

Country Properties

The overseas team at Country Properties is headquartered in Hertfordshire, and the company was set up more than a decade ago to assist clients who were looking for properties in France, the Canary Islands and mainland Spain. In addition to arranging a viewing trip with accredited Spanish estate agents, Country Properties can also provide financing information.

Chestertons International

Branded as London’s residential property experts, Chestertons also has a network of 75 international offices providing expert advice and market information for real estate investors. The Chestertons International office in Spain is located in Sotogrande in Andalusia, and the hand-picked properties listed cover areas including Menorca, Costa Blanca, Costa Brava, Ibiza, Mallorca, Barcelona and Marbella.

Your Home In Spain

With a sales team in Cheshire and an office in Villamartin, Costa Blanca, the Your Home In Spain estate agency covers properties throughout the South Costa Blanca region and up to Valencia. Experienced staff who have lived in Spain for more than a decade will help you in your search, and once you’ve decided on the property to buy English-speaking Spanish solicitors will guide you through the legal process.

Slater and Gordon

The British law firm of Slater and Gordon has in-house international property solicitors who help clients with everything from purchasing property in Spain to tax and inheritance planning. They can also help with Spanish property transfers on divorce and cross-border estate planning. Their guide to buying property in Spain — which explains the NIE, preliminary contracts, legal checks and ownership structures — is especially helpful for first-time investors.

MASA International

This real estate agency provides a pretty unique one-on-one information service for people in the UK interested in buying property in Spain. Paul Payne, the sales and marketing director at MASA International and author of Buying a Property in Spain, offers a free private consultation over tapas and drinks. You can discuss your requirements, get an overview of the purchase process and obtain a personalised portfolio of properties for you to consider.
