Eva Andreasson

Director of Product Management, Cloudera

Eva Andreasson has been working with JVMs, SOA, Cloud, and infrastructure software for 15+ years. She has two patents on JVM garbage collection heuristics and algorithms. She also pioneered Deterministic GC which was productized as JRockit Real Time at BEA Systems (bef. Oracle). After two years as product manager for Zing at Azul Systems, she joined Cloudera in 2012 to help drive the future of distributed data processing through Cloudera's Distribution of Hadoop. Since, she has worked with the projects Hue, ZooKeeper, Oozie, and other components. In 2013 she initiated and launched Cloudera Search. More recently she drove the partner-showcase and easy-to-get-started trial experience of Cloudera Live. @EvaAndreasson



Dr. Daniel Duffy

High Performance Computing Lead, NASA Center for Climate Simulation (NCCS). Dr. Daniel Duffy is head of the NASA Center for Climate Simulation (NCCS, Code 606.2), which provides high performance computing, storage, networking, and data systems designed to meet the specialized needs of the Earth science modeling communities. He has worked on a number of applied research and development projects to explore technologies for the next generation of high performance computing solutions for NASA scientists, including being the co-Investigator on the MERRA Analytics Service Project, which has lead to the formulation of Climate Analytics-as-a-Service (CAaaS). Prior to being the high performance computing lead, Dan served as the lead system engineer for the NCCS over the past 10 years where he has architected dramatic increases in computational and storage capabilities for NASA scientists. Before joining NASA in 2003, Dan worked on highly parallel applications for the Department of Defense (DoD). @dqduffy

Eddie Garcia

Chief Security Architect, Office of the CTO, Cloudera Eddie Garcia is chief security architect at Cloudera, a leader in enterprise analytic data management. Eddie helps Cloudera enterprise customers reduce security and compliance risks associated with sensitive data sets stored and accessed in Apache Hadoop environments. Working in the office of the CTO, Eddie also provides security thought leadership and vision to the Cloudera product roadmap. Formerly the VP of InfoSec and Engineering for Gazzang prior to its acquisition by Cloudera, Eddie architected and implemented secure and compliant Big Data infrastructures for customers in the financial services, healthcare and public sector industries to meet PCI, HIPAA, FERPA, FISMA and EU data security requirements. He was also the chief architect of the Gazzang zNcrypt product and is author of two patents for data security.

Audie Hittle

Federal Chief Technology Officer, Isilon Storage Division, EMC Corporation Audie Hittle joined EMC as the Federal Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Isilon Storage Division in November 2012, where his responsibilities span defense, intelligence, and civilian agencies. He has more than 30 years of information technology experience, including a 22 year U.S. Air Force (USAF) C4ISR career. Through his leadership, Hittle supports EMC’s mission to enable government agencies to transform their operations and deliver IT-as-a-Service. In addition to his duties at EMC, Hittle is a founding member and serves on the Board of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) New England Chapter, and serves on the Board of Governors of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan Fellows Program in Innovation and Global Leadership. Prior to joining EMC, Hittle was a member of the Ultra Electronics ProLogic senior management team, where he served for six years in key leadership positions, including Vice President Technology Applications, CTO, and Group Deputy General Manager. Before joining ProLogic, Hittle ran his own engineering consulting business and held several leadership positions in various startups and small businesses, including NetCracker Corporation and Collego. Hittle also co-founded the first formal professional services practice for Cabletron Systems, and served as a technical staff member at the internationally recognized MIT Lincoln Laboratory. During his military career, Hittle’s accomplishments on the Executive Board of the Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC) earned the national “Lifetime Achievement Award for Technology Transfer. Additionally, he was part of the foundation team that launched the USAF/Joint Service Airborne Networking effort, recognized by MIT Technology Review in 2005 as one of the “Top Ten Emerging Technologies” that could change the world. Hittle is a Level III, top-ranked, Acquisition Program Manager and Systems Planning Research, Development, and Engineering Professional. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (University of New Mexico), Master of Science in Engineering Management (Western New England College), Masters-Level Certificate from the Air Command and Staff College, and Joint Masters Degree in Engineering and Business Management, in the Management of Technology (MIT School of Engineering and the Sloan School). @CTOAudie

Juliet Hougland

Data Scientist, Cloudera Juliet is a recent addition to Cloudera’s data science team. She has spent the last 3 years working on a variety of Big Data applications from e-commerce recommendations to predictive analytics for oil and gas pipelines. She holds an MS in Applied Mathematics from University of Colorado, Boulder and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Reed College with a BA in Math-Physics. @j_houg

Alex Moundalexis

Solutions Architect, Cloudera Alex Moundalexis is a Solutions Architect for Cloudera Government Solutions, a contributor to Apache Accumulo, and has spent the last two years installing and configuring Hadoop clusters across the country for a variety of commercial and federal customers. Before entering the land of Big Data, Alex spent the better part of ten years wrangling Linux server farms and writing Perl as a contractor to the Department of Defense and Department of Justice. Senior Director of Technology Solutions, Cloudera Webster Mudge is Sr. Director of Technology Solutions at Cloudera where he strives to bring Hadoop technologies and business objectives together. Previously, Webster held positions in sales and services at companies like Microsoft and FAST Search and Transfer and in software development at firms like Time Inc. Mike Olson

Chief Strategy Officer, Cloudera Mike co-founded Cloudera in 2008 and served as its CEO until 2013 when he took on his current role of chief strategy officer (CSO.) As CSO, Mike is responsible for Cloudera’s product strategy, open source leadership, engineering alignment and direct engagement with customers. Prior to Cloudera Mike was CEO of Sleepycat Software, makers of Berkeley DB, the open source embedded database engine. Mike spent two years at Oracle Corporation as vice president for Embedded Technologies after Oracle’s acquisition of Sleepycat in 2006. Prior to joining Sleepycat, Mike held technical and business positions at database vendors Britton Lee, Illustra Information Technologies and Informix Software.
