The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking Community Manager for our Maghreb Voices Team at our Headquarters office in Springfield, VA. MBN is a non-profit grantee of the federal government that directly communicates with the people of the Middle East and North Africa through television, radio, and digital media. MBN's mission is to provide objective, accurate, and relevant news and information to the people of the Middle East about the region, the world, and the United States in support of U.S. public diplomacy.
MBN is looking for Community Managers to moderate and lead discussions on a range of current social and cultural issues on Facebook and other social platforms. Community Managers will facilitate digital conversations and may create content in a variety of forms including video and photo essays to maximize target audience engagement.
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Community Manager include, but are not limited to:
- Stimulating and moderating discussion across social media platforms.
- Generating original engagement content in a range of journalistic forms.
- Exploring ways to leverage audience discussion and feedback across media.
- Using third-party services to tell stories in unique ways that increases engagement.
- Exercising sound editorial judgment, ensuring compliance with copyright restrictions.
- Demonstrating understanding of content creation as related to placement strategies.
- Mastering use of Facebook, Twitter, Google, YouTube products and other platforms
