ZC (Zimbabwe Cricket) has announced that they will host Sri Lanka for two Test matches followed by a One Day International tri-series which will also feature the West Indies.

The two Sri Lanka Tests will be hosted from October 29 and November 6 respectively in Harare. The tri-series will kick off from November 14 with the first match between Sri Lanka and the hosts themselves at the Harare Sports Club. Each team will play each other twice in a Round Robin stage before the top two teams eventually contest in the final on November 27. The last four ODIs along with the final will be played in Bulawayo.

Sri Lanka’s tour of Zimbabwe was initially planned in the FTP with two Tests, three ODIs and a T20I. Later, there were odds of the visit being supplanted by the tri-arrangement with West Indies, as the Tests were not being considered as fiscally reasonable, but rather now the Tests and tri-arrangement both will occur. Had that happened, Zimbabwe would have abandoned playing a Test for 11 months.

There were odds of the Tests being cancelled as a result of Zimbabwe Cricket’s developing obligation and the financial circumstance of the nation in general. As of late, the Harare-based players had declined to prepare in challenge over unpaid match expenses, which dated back to July a year ago. The dissents finished in the wake of being given an affirmation by the Zimbabwe Cricket executive Wildfred Mukondiwa.

Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka last played a Test in a two-match arrangement in 2004. They have played 15 Tests against each other general, with Sri Lanka winning 10 of them and five completion in draws.
