Title: Network Analyst/ Firewall Administrator

Position Type: Full Time Salaried

Compensation: Commensurate to experience. Up to 85K with possible flexibility

Team Description:

The network services group consists of roughly 12 members providing open systems, network and security operations to the enterprise. Group supports 6000 end users. This is an opportunity to engage an environment that is dealing with fresh projects to re-architect and/or rebuild.

Position Description:

Responsible for maintaining the corporate firewall infrastructure consisting 7 Check Point NGX clusters (14 firewalls total due to redundancy). Part of the team that oversees Wide Area Network Administration, LAN and WAN network configurations and installations; second and third level network support and network monitoring and management. Generate standardization policies for the enterprise. Work with appropriate third parties for equipment and circuit replacement and capacity planning. Implement and support the LAN/WAN hardware, software and Internet/Intranet/Extranet integration. Troubleshooting Cisco router equipment, frame-relay and MPLS networks. In addition to Check Point administration you will be involved with projects focused on dealing with core infrastructure needs across the enterprise.

Immediate Projects Include: Expansion of functions at recovery data center including building improvement in recovery times for applications, redundant internet, and further utilize redundant infrastructure at geographically diverse data centers. Work with network load balancing technologies- F5. Key team member in planning and executing highly available network core upgrade. Evolve Disaster Recovery Systems and continue to evolve the DR practices. Juniper QFabric training will be provided.

Long Term projects include: Re-architecting and rebuilding Firewall systems. Further driving standardization on core network infrastructure and remote sites. Standardize reporting and alerting systems pertinent to routing and switching hardware. Review switching and router security and develop corporate-wide standards and inspection systems with the security group. Manage trend analysis for forecasting and planning communications needs.

Experience Required:

1. Current Check Point Firewall Administrator, minimum of 2-3yrs. Position is 75% firewall admin.

2. Working Knowledge of LAN and WAN network configurations and installations, second and third-level network support and network monitoring and management.

3. Routing protocols and bridging of non-routable protocols.

4. Packet analysis tools.

5. VLAN technology and experience installing and managing switched networks.

6. Cisco routers and switches, Extreme Networks Switches.

7. Design, installation and support of VPN hardware and networks.

8. Strong Windows Operating System knowledge; UNIX / Linux experience desirable.

9. Managing or supporting Frame Relay, T-1, Fractional T-1 networks and MPLS networks.

10. SNMP and network management.

11. Experience with Load Balancers: F5 preferred.

12. General knowledge of wiring and cabling.

13. Experience developing scripts to automate system administration tasks including performance monitoring.

14. Experience documenting application installation and maintenance procedures.

Work Conditions: 24x7 on-call availability. Sitting for extended periods of time. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components. Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings. Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals, ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a height of three feet.
