LED Conversion Specialists

Like many business owners who learn about the longevity and electricity savings of LED lighting, you may be considering making the switch from traditional lighting sources and getting an upgrade.

Looking long-term, replacing traditional lights – indoor or out – with LEDs will provide some cost-savings in terms of electricity used and the actual replacement costs of lamps. Still, it’s important to consider how much your upfront costs will be and the logistics that will go into making the switch.

Let’s shed some light on those areas.

The Simplest LED Replacements are Retrofits

Many business owners will be happy to hear that LED lights have been designed so that you can simply take out your traditional lamp and replace it with a new one. This means that, other than the lights themselves, there will be no other repair or upgrading costs.

It is rare that there is not an LED option that fits into a traditional lighting ballast but you will, of course, want to determine this before spending the money on your new lights.

Energy Savings from LED

If you consider that LEDs only draw about one-third of the electricity of traditional lights, you’ll also have to consider the time it takes for you to get the return on the investment of your upfront costs. Typically this takes up to two or three years (but of course varies by building), and is why it is encouraged that you convert your entire building/warehouse/parking lot/etc. at once in order to achieve the quickest return on your investment.

Maintenance Savings from LED

An additional and important item to consider in terms of “long term” savings is of course maintenance. Many Leading LED manufacturers offer warranties on their lights which can range from five to 10 years. In addition to this, the lifespan of LEDs themselves are considerably longer than that of traditional lights which means that the need for employing the services of external contractors is greatly reduced.

For example, a traditional T8 lamp has a lifespan of about 20,000 hours. Compare this to a LED replacement lamp with a lifespan of about 50,000 hours. You’ll be enjoying the benefits of less frequent maintenance but also a lamp that pulls considerably less electricity.
