Suspect Arrested for Kidnapping and Rape



CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Division of Police, in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Elyria Police Department, the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office and the Attorney General of the State of Ohio announce that an arrest has been made in the May 21, 2016 abduction of a six year old girl. The victim was taken from her home in the 3000 block of West 104th Street in Cleveland.  The same suspect was connected to an attempted abduction of a young girl in Elyria, Ohio.

On Friday, December 2, 2016, Justin Christian, a 29 year old white male, was arrested in Lorain, Ohio on charges of Kidnapping and Rape.

“Detectives and agents have worked this case tirelessly for the last seven months and we are pleased to announce an arrest in this case,” said Cleveland Division of Police Calvin D. Williams. “With this suspect behind bars, our children are safer.  This case could not have been solved without the partnered effort of all of these agencies.”

“Our two young victims, their families and the community can rest easier knowing this child predator is now behind bars,” Said Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge Stephen D. Anthony. “There is no higher priority than protecting our children and thanks to the hard work, persistence and collaboration by numerous law enforcement professionals, Justin Christian has been brought to justice and will be held accountable for these terrible crimes.”
