The struggle is real. In certain parts of the city, you can't swing a cat without hitting a cozy little bar. But in the area around Hauptbahnhof, decent cocktails are about as rare as freshwater in the desert. Which is a shame, because nothing improves a train ride like a martini (we think Dorothy Parker said that once). So you can imagine how happy we were when we discovered Apartment, a snazzy new rooftop bar serving craft cocktails on the sixth floor of the Amano Grand Central Hotel. Finally, you can enjoy a proper drink (mixed by credentialed bar staff) and soak in sweeping panoramas of the city — all from its barren heart.
