Endorsements come from Latino public servants, small business owners, and community leaders

Las Vegas, NV – Today, more than 200 Latino leaders from across Nevada endorsed Senator Catherine Cortez Masto’s reelection campaign, highlighting her fight for Nevada’s working families, Latino-owned small businesses, and a woman’s right to choose.

“Whether you’re a third generation Nevadan like me or you’re just getting started here — Nevada is our home, and I’m fighting for you,” said Senator Cortez Masto. “I am proud to have the support of our Latino leaders, and I look forward to continuing our work together delivering for all Nevada communities.”

A third generation Nevadan, Cortez Masto is the first and only Latina elected to the U.S. Senate, where she has passed critical legislation to create good-paying jobs, lower costs, and support Nevada workers. Univision’s Despierta America recently highlighted Cortez Masto’s story and her fight for Latino families in Nevada.

Her opponent, Adam Laxalt, has consistently attacked the Latino community in Nevada, saying it was “good news” for him that Latino-owned small businesses closed during the pandemic and opposing new, good-paying jobs for Nevadans.

“Senator Cortez Masto lives by her family values, and I’m pleased to endorse her because she is a champion for Latino working families,” said Edgar Flores, former Nevada Hispanic Legislative Caucus Chair. “As a state legislator, I’ve seen firsthand her work throughout Nevada — bringing home helpful infrastructure resources to create jobs and boost our standing as the entertainment capital of the world.”

“Nevada’s hardworking families are fortunate to have Senator Cortez Masto serving our state,” said Teresa Benitez-Thompson, Nevada Assembly Majority Leader. “Watching her open the doors of the U.S. Senate to Latinas has shown us that we can do anything. I am proud to support my friend, and I am excited to continue working together to strengthen Nevada’s economy, schools, and communities.”

“From always protecting small businesses to supporting Nevada workers, Catherine has proved that she will deliver for us when we need it most,” said Antonio Garcia, U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce in Las Vegas President. “She always puts Nevada first, and I’m proud to endorse her because no one fights harder for our Latino-owned small businesses.”

“I support Senator Cortez Masto because she has led efforts to protect women’s rights and has stood against right-wing politicians targeting our community,” said Sylvia Lazos, Henderson Community Leader. “This election is about who stands with us — and Adam Laxalt has consistently attacked Nevada’s Latino communities. We helped defeat him before and we will work as hard as we can to defeat him again because he’s not fighting for us. Senator Cortez Masto is.”
