As an MPH graduate student at Eastern Washington University, I am conducting my capstone research project on the impact of compassion fatigue and burnout amongst family caregivers, along with its residual impact on the social, professional and financial lives, and mental and physical wellbeing, of caregivers. For the explicit purpose of this research, the term ‘caregiver’ includes the adult children/grandchildren, spouses, nieces/nephews, siblings, and even family friends/neighbors of elderly adults who need regular assistance with activities of daily living (ADL’s).
The attached questionnaire takes approximately 10-20 minutes to complete. Of particular interest are respondents who are members of the Sandwich Generation (those who provide care to at least one member of a younger and older generation, simultaneously) and single men, although eligibility to participate in this research is also open to others. Respondents must be at least 18, be unpaid/uncompensated for their caregiving, and provide a minimum of two hours of caregiving per day.
