Shopping
If you are looking for a great place to shop in the Treasure Valley then you will be pleased to hear about these wonderful shopping opportunities. Among many other shopping centers and strip malls, there are four largely recognized need-to-experience shopping opportunities in the Treasure Valley. In no particular order, there is the Boise Towne Square Mall, the Village at Meridian, Downtown Boise, and the Karcher Mall in Nampa.
Boise Towne Square Mall
Located on the Boise Bench is the most popular mall in the valley: The Boise Towne Square Mall. This two floor mall is home to popular stores like Hot Topic, Hamp;M, JC Penny, Macy’s, Sears, and much more. The mall also has dozens of great restaurants in its food court to choose from and many great specialty shops as well. On the outside of the mall there are several iconic restaurants as well like the Cheesecake Factory and Old Chicago. Over the last few years the Boise Towne Square Mall has gotten bigger and better, offering their guests a fantastic experience every time they stop in.
The Village
The Village at Meridian is a new development that has recently taken the Treasure Valley by storm. Located in East Meridian on the corner of Eagle Road and Fairview Avenue the Village has everything that anyone could ever want in a classy outdoor mall. With many California born restaurants, specialty shops, a movie theater, and bowling alley and arcade combo, the Village is a popular place for patrons of all ages. The Village courtyard is also built around a synchronized water and light show as well as a playground that turns into an ice skating rink in the winter.
Downtown Boise
Boise is a large city, it has a population of approximately 200,000+ people (a third of the total population of the Treasure Valley), but it would not be considered large enough to have a thriving downtown city center. However, Boise, despite its size, has a diverse, entertaining, and exciting downtown area. Home to the State Capitol, Boise State University, and numerous specialty shops and restaurants, Downtown Boise is a shopping metropolis.
Karcher Mall
Boise isn’t the only city in the valley that has a great mall. The Karcher Mall in Nampa is the Treasure Valley’s second mall that services the cities of Nampa, Caldwell, and the rest of Canyon County. This mall is full of amazing restaurants, specialty shops, and more. It is located near to many other shopping centers, and restaurants, each drawing more and more people to the area every year.
Libraries
What would a community be without a library? Libraries can be great community resources for learning and intellectual development and the Treasure Valley is not without their influence. Within the Treasure Valley there are about a dozen or so libraries at various locations so that everyone can get to one easily. Even though all of the libraries are great, there are three that are exceptional and widely loved: the Boise Downtown Library, the Cole and Ustick Library, and the Meridian Library.
Boise Downtown Library
The downtown library is a large structure (approximately 3 floors high) and is located just across the street from Boise State University Campus and behind the Anne Frank Memorial. It is a library with a massive collection of books, movies, music, and more. It is a very popular place for people around the city to go due to their wide variety of books. There are many specialty sections in the Boise Downtown Library that are not found in any of the other libraries in the valley. For example, there is an entire section on the third floor that is devoted to foreign language books.
Cole and Ustick Library
The library at Cole and Ustick is on the corner of Cole road and Ustick Road. It one of the newest libraries in the valley and also doubles as a community center. It is an extremely aesthetically pleasing building that is not only pleasant to be in, but also easy to get to. Cole and Ustick is a very central location for most Boise residents, so it makes it easier for people to enjoy it.
Meridian Library
In the heart of Meridian is another amazing library—the Meridian Public Library. The only library in the city, the Meridian City Library is not surprisingly well loved. Its location on W Cherry Lane between Linder Road and Meridian Road puts it in the center of the city so it can service as many people as possible. It has a large selection of books, computers for patrons to use, and much more for people to enjoy.
Entertainment
Many people still think that the Treasure Valley is a rural part of the country, but it has many great things to enjoy that you would find plentiful in any other metropolitan area. Though it does have great outdoor hotspots and its fair share of rural communities. The Treasure Valley also has many great entertainment establishments that are sure to keep everyone excited.
Theaters

In Boise alone there are two megaplexes with Imax and 3D capabilities as well as a handful of dollar theaters. However, around the valley there are also many other theaters to choose from, so you are never too far away from one.
