….All the hopes and all the fears of all the years are gathered here tonight.

New Year a time of gathering together thoughts of past and present, of what’s been and what might come, and distilling it all into a mindful awareness of the present. A time of grief in noticing absences, a time of gratitude and joy for what we have. These moments of acute awareness can help us move away from our self created narrative of self and open us out into a connection with our wider lives, and the uncontrollable ebb and flow of life. At times this wider world can be filled with fear and uncertainty.

Forget resolutions, they smack of ego and a false feeling we control our lives, instead embrace what you love and cherish it. As the sun begins to gather her strength over the coming days let your connections to life flourish and grow. Let the light of awareness slip gently into your dusty forgotten corners and awaken within you a delight in your life as it is and as it might be. Stretch and grow with the returning light, trusting yourself

Times of great uncertainty require trust in yourself and in the bigger rhythms of life itself. It’s a tale as old as time….
