After Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Raees’ got banned in Pakistan, the next movie to face a similar issue is Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Jolly LL.B 2‘. The movie which released on February 10, 2017 was all set for a release in Pakistan as well, but unfortunately had to face a ban from the Examining Committee of Pakistan Censor Board.

A source close to a leading daily states, “In the movie, Akshay Kumar plays a lawyer who treats his profession casually until he comes across the case of an innocent man who is killed and declared a Kashmiri militant, while the real Kashmiri militant goes into hiding in Uttar Pradesh. Bringing up the issue has not gone down well with the Pakistani censor board. They’ve banned the film, as they intend to ban all Indian films that bring up the Kashmir issue.”

It was just last week that SRK and Mahira Khan’s ‘Raees’ faced a similar issue and now this movie. Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’ has been the only movie so far to find a safe release across the border after the ban on Indian movies was lifted.

‘Jolly LL.B 2’ is written and directed by Subhash Kapoor and stars Akshay Kumar, Huma Qureshi, Annu Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla in significant roles.
