In League One, Bolton extended their 100% run with a hard-earned home win over Fleetwood. Scunthorpe thrashed Gillingham to stay on the Trotters’ tails, while Millwall and Oxford won through late penalties. Shrewsbury surprised Chesterfield, Bradford fought back to beat Coventry, and Charlton earned a welcome win at Walsall. There were also away wins for Oldham and MK Dons, and Wimbledon got their first point of the season at Northampton.
In League Two, Luton were undone by struggling Stevenage, and second-placed Colchester lost at Portsmouth. That means Morecambe are the new leaders after the Shrimps won at Yeovil. Bottom club Exeter won at Accrington, Plymouth beat Mansfield and there were away wins for Doncaster, Leyton Orient and Notts County. The four remaining games – Blackpool v Wycombe, Cambridge v Carlisle, Newport v Crewe and Crawley v Barnet – all finished level.
