At Top Hat, we’re thrilled to be nominated as one of the three finalists for TechVibes Canadian Startup of The Year.
The TechVibes Canadian Startup of the Year awards celebrate the best and brightest in the Canadian tech space, and is in its sixth year. We’re in the running for the main accolade, along with Breather and SkiptheDishes. This year, the awards will also recognize companies for social impact and enterprise transformation.
Not only are we nominated, but one of our investors, iNovia Capital, is also a finalist—for best VC Firm of the Year.
This news comes after a year of enormous growth at Top Hat. We doubled our staff, to more than 200, in our Toronto and Denver offices. Three-quarters of the top 1000 schools in North America, including Indiana University, the Ohio State University and Michigan State University, now use our software. And, last year, Deloitte named us one of Canada’s fastest growing companies on its 19th annual Fast 50 list.
Previous winners of TechVibes’ startup awards include Slack, Hootsuite, and Wattpad (like Ryan Gosling and Rachel MacAdams, other secret Canadians who have gone on to success in the United States.)
