With high hopes for a full service wellness centre and more renovations ahead, Canadian Green is bringing medical marijuana and a range of holistic services to Bloordale Village. Since opening in early February 2016, owner Katherine has built a team looking to turn this dispensary into a welcoming environment, complete with an on-site massage therapist, studio space, and kitchen.

In a neighbourhood heating up with new medical marijuana dispensaries, Canadian Green is one of the only dispensaries on the Bloor West strip to offer holistic services, next to C.A.R.E (Cannabis Access Resource and Education Center) and Queen of Cannabis, a smaller dispensary located near Bloor and Ossington.

“Our vision is to be accessible to patients all across Toronto and to offer patients access to an exceptional product and an alternative balanced lifestyle.” Says Katherine, owner of Canadian Green.

The space itself is far from finished, but underway. The small studio behind the counter is designed for classes like yoga, Pilates and Tai-Chi; a few more mirrors still need to be added, but the space is quite accommodating. For those looking for private services, clients can book appointments with Canadian Green’s massage therapist. There’s even plans to launch medicated cooking classes in the kitchen behind the studio.

On the menu, customers can choose between a regular rotation of 12 flowers, an Indica heavy mix with Sativa-dominant hybrids. Strains like Chocolate Kush ($10/G) and Pink Kush ($15/G) are among the highest rated. Chocolate Kush is a heavy-handed Indica with a full body high, intense euphoria and deep relaxation. Pink Kush is a pink hairy Kush that’s a go-to for high-stress patients looking for a strain to increase appetite and eliminate pain.

“There’s a regular rotation of heavy Indicas like The Bubba, Purple Kush and Hindu, with concentrates and edibles from MOTA. Since opening, many of our clients really enjoy the White Shark, it’s an Indica strain with a quick body buzz you can almost feel immediately,” explains a staff member.

Concentrates like Shatter ($55/G) and Rainbow Wax ($55/G) offer a high that’s powerful and full of flavour. Rainbow Wax speaks for itself, with a taste profile that’s like a pack of Starburst, a joyful high with fruity flavours.

What sets this dispensary apart from its Bloor West competition are its edibles. With a kitchen readily available to become an in-house cooking facility, Canadian Green is excited to work with some of the city’s best chefs in the edible market. Offering MOTA, a Colorado-based edible maker that’s well-known for its consistent, specially formulated mixes. Gluten-free brownies and chocolate chip cookies are available for those looking for specialty edibles. Next to Rice Crispies, two bite brownies and assorted cookies, there’s plenty of yummy snacks to pair with flowers and concentrates.

“We know that for our patients, it is not just about using a natural medicine, but also about embracing a healthy lifestyle – that is why we offer other wellness and holistic related services to our members. We hope to create an environment where everyone can feel comfortable and welcome.” Says Katherine.

Pricing per gram ranges from $7-$15, offering more affordable strains like BC Bud, to high- end Kush like Bubba Kush AAAA and Super Kush AAAA. With a nice range of street-level prices, there’s enough of a selection to peak the interest of cannabis connoisseurs, patients with serious illness and recreational smokers looking for new strains.

Bringing a frequent rotation of flowers and edibles, Canadian Green is a place for medical marijuana patients to learn, relax and explore the benefits of marijuana. Preparing for the launch of their studio and soon-to-be renovated kitchen, Canadian Green sets the bar high with an exceeding amount of offerings and services.
