It’s time again for Fun Fact Friday! We have rounded up our favourite facts we could find out about Amara to share with you all on this dreary autumnal Friday. We hope you enjoy them…
We have three content sources at Amara: The LuxPad, The Amara Blog & The Wedding Journal
At Amara we don’t just offer thousands of high- end homeware products, we also provide a host of intriguing content to sink your teeth into. All very varied in style and subject, we have three content sources which provide the latest design news, behind the scenes gossip and wedding updates. The LuxPad is our luxury online magazine which features interviews with industry leaders, design inspiration and interior news, whilst the Amara Blog is the place to go to hear all about us as a company from staff introductions, important announcements and events throughout the year. Last but certainly not least is The Wedding Journal part of our dedicated Amara Weddings website which unlocks the latest in the luxury wedding industry from interviews, wedding company features and real-life case studies.
Most of our customers shop between 8-9pm in the evening
We have done a bit of research as we wanted to know when the most popular time for our customers to shop is. Our expert marketing team of course had all this information ready to hand so it didn’t take long for us to discover that Amara receives the most orders between 8-9pm in the evening. So it looks like our customers simply love to spend their evenings coming home from work, putting their feet up and browsing the Amara site!
Amara has a near quarterly staff event
It’s no secret at Amara that we know how to let our hair down and this is reflected in our fabulous staff parties held nearly very quarter (when time allows). Always a luxurious affair, the team socials are a fantastic way for everyone to get to know each other better – something getting more and more difficult as we grow – and to have a night of fun after months of hard work. Some of the most notable staff parties have been this summer’s trip to Newmarket Racecourse where we had our own marquee and were graced with a performance from McBusted, a surprise Christmas trip to the London Aquarium for dinner & drinks and a no expense spared garden party at Sam & Andrew Hood’s gorgeous home.
The Amara name has many meanings
In a post earlier on in the year we already discussed the origins of the Amara name and why it was chosen by Sam & Andrew over a decade ago, however after more research we have also uncovered even more meanings behind the name. In Sanskrit Amara means ‘immortal’, in Greek it means ‘eternal’ and it also has African origins where it translates to ‘paradise’, so fingers crossed the company lives up to our name as an eternal paradise of luxury homeware!
Amara has its own interior design service
At our Concord Farm offices we have not only the whole Amara team but also a beautifully decorated room which houses our expert interior design service. Headed by our in house interior designer Sam Brine – affectionately nicknamed ‘B’ – the room is stocked full of the latest wallpaper and fabric books from leading brands such as Cole & Son, Zoffany and Mulberry Home and B works tirelessly to provide her clients with the highest level of design expertise to transform their homes. One of our favourite things about B’s room in the Amara offices (apart from B herself) is the eye-catching Osborne & Little Butterfly Garden wallpaper which you can spot in the image below.
Have a fabulous weekend!
