It was no surprise that heaps of games were discussed, revealed and showcased at E3 2016. It’s what the event is about, after all.

While many of the games and hardware covered over the course of the week won’t arrive for a year or more, there’s still a tonne of new games that featured at E3 that are due to launch before the end of 2016.

*Collective hurrah*.

Here’s 16 titles from E3 you can look forward to getting stuck into in 2016.

1 – Mafia III

After years of combat in Vietnam, Lincoln Clay knows this truth: family isn’t who you’re born with, it’s who you die for. When his surrogate family, the black mob, is betrayed and wiped out by the Italian Mafia, Lincoln builds a new family on the ashes of the old and blazes a path of military-grade revenge and redemption through the Mafioso responsible.

2 – Gears of War 4

A new saga begins for one of the most acclaimed video game franchises in history. After narrowly escaping an attack on their village, JD Fenix and his friends, Kait and Del, must rescue the ones they love and discover the source of a monstrous new enemy.

3 – ReCore

From the legendary creator Keiji Inafune and the makers of Metroid Prime comes ReCore, an action-adventure masterfully crafted for a new generation.

As one of the last remaining humans on a planet controlled by robotic foes bent on your destruction, you must forge friendships with a courageous group of robot companions, each with unique abilities and powers. Lead this band of unlikely heroes on an epic adventure through a mysterious, dynamic world.

4 – Watch Dogs 2

Use hacking as a weapon in the massive & dynamic open world of Watch Dogs 2.

In 2016, ctOS 2.0, an advanced operating system networking city infrastructure, was implemented in several US cities to create a safer, more efficient metropolis. Play as Marcus Holloway, a brilliant young hacker living in the birthplace of the tech revolution, the San Francisco Bay Area.

Team up with Dedsec, a notorious group of hackers, and expose the hidden dangers of ctOS 2.0, which, in the hands of corrupt corporations, is being wrongfully used to monitor and manipulate citizens on a massive scale.

With the power of hacking and Dedsec by your side, launch the Hack of the Century, take down ctOS 2.0 and give freedom back to whom it belongs: the people.

5 – Gravity Rush 2

Another mind-bending adventure awaits gravity queen Kat as a new danger emerges to threaten the fabric of the universe itself.

Still searching for clues behind the mystery of her origin, and with the powerful Raven at her side, Kat must master three unique gravity attack styles as she takes on enemies and massive bosses.

6 – Pokemon Sun/Moon

Following in the tradition of previous games in the Pokémon series, players choose one of three special Pokémon to be their first partner. These are among the first Pokémon players will encounter in the game.

In Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, players will be able to choose between the newly discovered Grass- and Flying-type Pokémon Rowlet, Fire-type Litten, and Water-type Popplio.

For a Pokémon Trainer, knowing the Pokémon types and how they match up against one another in battle is vital. Grass-type Pokémon are strong against Water types, but weak against Fire types.

Fire-type Pokémon are strong against Grass types and weak against Water types. And Water-type Pokémon are strong against Fire types, but weak against Grass types.

7 – Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE

Once there was a group of young people who had no idea of the awesome powers they possessed. Meanwhile, in another dimension, a collection of heroes had lost all purpose and sense of themselves. Now, that’s all about to change…

In Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, a unique RPG for Wii U, budding stars of the stage and screen from Tokyo team up with legendary warriors from the world of Fire Emblem against the forces of darkness.

8 – Monster Hunter Generations

The newest instalment in the popular action RPG series from Capcom is making its way to the west this summer. The new Style system and Hunter Arts create the most customisable Monster Hunter experience yet, while players will now have the option to play as a Felyne for the first time ever.

The game will feature a special collaboration armour set based on Marth from the Fire Emblem series, while anyone who plays Monster Hunter Generations on a Nintendo 3DS system with Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate save data will unlock bonus content in the new game.

9 – Attack on Titan

‘A.O.T. Wings of Freedom’ closely follows the riveting story line of Attack on Titan’s first season and focuses on the exploits of various key characters, putting the player in a position to relive the anime’s most shocking, courageous, and exhilarating moments.

It revolves around the story of three young people who survive the destruction of their walled city district by enormous, man-eating Titans and eventually go on to join the Scout Regiment in order to protect humanity from this overpowering foe.

10 – Forza Horizon 3

With the new Horizon Blueprint, create and instantly share your own custom race events, championships and Bucket List challenges. Select your driver character, customize your car, your license plate and even your own car horn sound. Drive to the music you love with eight diverse radio stations, or stream your own music collection.

Hire friends to star in your festival and win you more fans. If they’re not winning you fans, fire them! Explore the Horizon Festival’s largest, most beautiful and diverse open world ever. 11 – Steep

Go solo or drop in side by side with other players. Record and share the most insane stunts ever captured, then challenge the world to beat your best tricks, ride your custom lines, and relive your most epic wipeouts.

12 – South Park: The Fractured But Whole

In the quiet mountain town of South Park, darkness has spread across the land. A new power is rising to combat this evil. An entire squad of superheroes will rise, led by a nocturnal scavenger sworn to clean the trash can of South Park society.

The kids are playing superheroes, and Cartman is determined to turn Coon and Friends into the biggest superhero franchise of all time. However, the villainous Professor Chaos emerges with an evil plan to eliminate Coon and Friends. The heroes need to work as a team to fight the chaos and terror that that grips the town.

13 – Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

The acclaimed studio team at Infinity Ward reaches new heights with Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, which returns to the roots of the series for a classic battle of two armies.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare immerses players in a war story that, for the first time in franchise history, extends beyond the reaches of Earth into the vast expanse of our solar system.

14 – The Last Guardian

15 – Final Fantasy XV
