DreamPress is our super optimized WordPress hosting service. It is not only very fast, but makes it extremely easy to manage your WordPress hosting platform.

Like many of the DreamHost hosting solutions, there are quite a few things you can do with DreamPress. We have simplified DreamPress quite a bit compared with shared and VPS hosting, but even so, there still are quite a few options. Because of that, we created a Getting Started Guide as a tool to help new users get up to speed, and to provide a reference that can be used at any time to quickly check how to use one of the many options. Therefore, the guide covers quite a range of topics.

In the getting started section, the ebook reviews the DreamPress dashboard along with the rest of the DreamHost control panel. This includes where to go to manage email, add new users, check on billing and account information and get support. The guide reviews domain setting options, PHP options, importing options, and using CloudFlare or Google Apps for Work with your service.

The guide covers the WordPress plugins that are included with DreamPress. The first plugin reviewed is the Varnish HTTP Purge plugin. It describes how the plugin work, showing how some activities trigger a cache refresh automatically, while others require a manual purge—and how you do that.

The DreamObjects Backup plugin is a great way to backup your WordPress site to the DreamObjects cloud storage. It gives you quite a few options—such as how often to backup and how many copies to retain. Best of all, the solution stores your backup data in a different location than your server using very low cost storage, thereby insuring that you use your DreamPress storage for your site and giving you the best ROI.

The reference section reviews just about everything you can do in the DreamHost panel that might be useful for your WordPress site. Topics include:

Backup

Billing

CDN options

Domains

Mail

MySQL database

Security options

SFTP

SSH and WP-CLI

Storage

TLS/SSL

Users

The guide finishes with a review of our recommended solutions, partner solutions and WordPress plugins. We also include our two favorite theme vendors when you are ready to upgrade to a new WordPress theme.
