Visiting cellar doors or cellar door hopping is one of the latest trends in Australian travel. There is something to be said about quaint, smaller wineries that aren’t associated with a big brand name. You will find hospitality and a friendly, family vibe at some of the smaller cellar doors you visit. Even if wine tasting isn’t your thing, there are other delights including gardens, historic buildings, local culture, and plenty of good eats. Here are five cellar doors to add to your list when travelling suggested by our friends over at AustralianTraveller.com:

Logan is a relatively new vineyard located in the Central Ranges of New South Wales near the town of Mudgee. Just because Logan was founded in 1996, doesn’t discredit the winery or this region, which is another one of Australia’s oldest wine growing regions. Out of the 30+ cellar doors in the Mudgee wine growing region, Logan is an excellent option because it is owned and run by Peter Logan and his wife, Hannah. They both have a passion for creating wine, running their vineyard and a love of Mudgee. That winning combination makes for great wines and a cellar door experience that is special and memorable.
