Day One is 18 km and is 6 hours. Today’s trek begins at Peak and goes to Canopy. Transfers and pick up service are included with your package, so you will be picked up at one of 3 locations you choose at the time of booking. The shuttle takes you to the starting point of the Hidden Peaks Trail at Spicers Peak Lodge. Your luggage is transported to each accommodation site for you. After meeting your guides for the trail, you can practice your techniques and get used to the bike and loaner equipment. Once it’s time to begin this amazing journey! (So exciting!) It’s important to note that this first day has the most technical riding requirements of the entire trip and includes single track, rainforest, and fire trails. You will ride down the Brumby Trail to an ancient, hidden gorge. Here you might see endangered Rock Wallabies in their natural habitat. Next it is on to the Cummins Hut for lunch. Along the way, you will get your first taste of some of the beautiful scenic landscapes along the track. Lunch consists of a fresh wrap, fruit, tea, and coffee. After lunch, relax for a bit in the gorgeous natural surroundings before heading to the Canopy Eco-Lodge where you will spend the first night on the trail. This eco-friendly lodge has 10 safari tents with king size beds. Upon arrival, afternoon tea and cold drinks will be served. Then you can get settled in, relax your muscles and the hot tub and enjoy a glass of wine before dinner. A three course dinner is served around the fireplace. After dinner and dessert, you can socialise in the main lodge or retire to your tent to prepare for day two on the Hidden Peaks Trail.

Day two of the Hidden Peaks Trail is when you take on Spicers Gap Road, a 20 km trek that takes about 7 hours. You will ride over single track, rainforest and fire trails, and road cycling for a few km at the end of the day. Start the day with a freshly prepared hearty breakfast. After leaving the gates of Canopy Eco-Lodge, riders will follow their guide down the fire trail to the fantastic greenery of the rainforest. As you explore this magical place, you will soon learn it is an environment for all the senses as you see and hear the wildlife all around you. Pull in that energy from the rainforest because next is the ascent up World Heritage Listed Spicers Gap Road. Your guide will tell you all about the history of this region while you marvel at the scenic landscape. Lunch is served when you reach the top of Spicers Gap Road where you’ll have a chance to sit and relax for a moment. While stopped here, you can walk up to Governor’s Chair Lookout where you will get some amazing views of the Fassifern Valley. When you are ready to leave, the group will start the 6 km trail down to the bottom of Spicers Gap Road. Once you finish the descent, follow the trail to Hidden Peaks Eco-Camp, where you will spend night 2 of the Hidden Peaks Trail. Each of the six log cabins here are ensuites equipped with personal fireplaces. A light snack of cheese platters and cold beverages will be served in between arrival and dinner time. You can relax with your trail mates in the main lodge and await dinner.

Day three of the Hidden Peaks Trail takes on the Bicentennial National Trail. It is 60 km long and takes about 8 hours. Get ready for today because it will include some of the most spectacular sights in the Scenic Rim. Today’s cycling is mostly over roads with only a small amount on fire trails. During this portion of the trail, the mountains are behind you and the rolling hills are next to you, which is why this is an easier ride today. You will get to see the Great Dividing Range from a totally different angle that helps you appreciate the vast size and beauty of these mountains. Lunch is at the newly restored Rosevale pub. There you will be able to have a traditional Australian country lunch. After your meal and a rest, it will be time to ride upto the Hideaway Cabins where you will spend your final night in the wilderness of the Hidden Peaks Trail. Before dinner, there will be cheese platters, snacks, and cool beverages around the firepit. There, you will have the opportunity to talk about the adventure your group has gone on over dinner on the terrace.

Hidden Peaks Trail Day Four

You will end at the Homage restaurant at Spicers Hidden Vale where you will have lunch and a chance to recap and celebrate the four day trail adventure you just completed and will never forget.
