Vishal Bhardwaj worked on Rangoon for almost one and a half years and the movie finally released today. It was supposed to hit the theatres last September but since Shahid Kapoor wanted to space out his films, it got pushed to 2017. The director is now taking a break and has not spoken about his next project. Even other filmmakers tend to go on a sabbatical after working on a particular film. Imtiaz Ali
The director is shooting his next film which was tentatively titled The Ring. The movie, which stars Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles, will release on August 11, 2017. Reports suggest that the film will now be called Rahnuma.
Rajkumar Hirani
Instead of working on the third instalment of the Munnabhai series, Hirani decided to make the biopic of his good friend, Sanjay Dutt. While Ranbir Kapoor plays the lead, Sonam Kapoor, Manisha Koirala, Vicky Kaushal, and Paresh Rawal will also be seen in the yet-untitled movie.
Zoya Akhtar
Zoya Akhtar’s next film is Gully Boy, and it features Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. It is based on the life of the famous rapper, Naezy (Naved Shaikh). Since Singh is busy with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati, the shoot of Gully Boy won’t start anytime soon, we guess.
Kabir Khan
The Salman Khan-Kabir Khan combination will be back this Eid. After Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, their next film together is titled Tubelight. The shoot is complete but since it is a period film, Khan is busy with the post-production work.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali
Padmavati was a film that Sanjay Leela Bhansali always wanted to make. After Bajirao Mastani, he decided to work on Padmavati. The film’s shoot is underway and it stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Shahid Kapoor. Padmavati releases on November 17, 2017.
