Raees will be Shah Rukh Khan's first release next year as the movie is slated to release on January 26th, 2017

Rahul Dholakia's Raees was initially supposed to release on Eid 2016. However, the lead actor, Shah Rukh Khan, wasn't too keen about the film clashing with Salman Khan’s Sultan, which hit theaters on Eid as was planned. Since all the other major festivals of 2016 have already been blocked by big budget movies like Shivaay, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, and Dangal, the makers of Raees were forced to shift the release date to next year. The movie will release alongside the Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam-starrer, Kaabil on Republic Day 2017.
The movie marks the Bollywood debut of Pakistani actress, Mahira Khan, who has been a part of films like Bol and Manto. Not much is known about her character in the film but it is rumored that King Khan plays the role of a bootlegger. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, on the other hand, will be seen as a cop who is out to nab Shah Rukh’s character. This is the first time that both the actors will be sharing screen space.
The filming is nearly complete and most parts of the movie have been shot in Gujarat. Last year, the makers released a teaser of the film and it met with a positive response. A few posters were launched, too, and all of them featured the lead actor only. The tagline of the film is Baniye Ka Dimaag Aur Miyanbhai Ki Daring. The Raees trailer will be out soon as Hrithik Roshan as already unveiled the Kaabil teaser. The Mohenjo Daro has even stated the date on which the Kaabil trailer will be out.
