2016-11-14

2016 has been an year for the small budget movies. With movies like Pink, Nil Batte Sannata, Aligarh, Waiting, Dhanak, M Cream and Parched, the previous statement is pretty valid. It can also be called a year of biopics with movies like Azhar, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Anna, Budhiya Singh – Born to Run, Sarbjit, Aligarh and Neerja. There was also a set Eid release by Salman Bhai for the seventh time – Sultan.

Then there were movies that looked promising but failed to impress and this year also taught us that sequels are not always twice as fun as the prequels. There were movies like Kapoor & Sons and Fan, which were eagerly awaited and gems like Airlift and Udta Punjab. You can count Udta Punjab, along with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, in the category of the most controversial movies as well. On a whole, it has been an entertaining journey so far.
