Over the years, Bollywood has given us numerous kinds of love stories and has added numerous twists to them. Love triangles, being one of them, have always fascinated our filmmakers, and have shown us different shades of love.

The fun part of such movies are the eventual questions – Who gets the guy/ girl in the end and who will be left alone to feel sorry for. So, now that we are talking about it, have a look at some such movies, where the guy either from the beginning or eventually chose the simple, aagyakari and shy girl over the hotshot, out-of-his-league, party girl.

Ishq Vishq
Love triangle: Payal – Rajiv – Alisha

Shahid Kapoor's debut film, Ishq Vishq is a cutesy college love drama where the traditional, shy girl, Payal (Amrita Rao) falls for the cute college guy, Rajiv (Shahid Kapoor) who is also her childhood friend. However, Rajiv falls head over heels for the new face in college, Alisha (Shenaz Treasury), only to learn that the desi girl is the one his heart really beats for.

Cocktail

Love triangle: Veronica – Gautam – Meera

Another love triangle where Veronica (Deepika Padukone) and Gautam (Saif Ali Khan) are a couple living together happily until Meera (Diana Penty) enters their lives. And just when Veronica starts developing feelings for Gautam, Meera decides to fall for him. And the conclusion to this story is again the same. Yes, the "traditional" Meera wins the guy over the strong-willed and independent Veronica.

Lagaan Love triangle: Gauri – Bhuvan – Elizabeth

This one involves a foreigner, Elizabeth (Rachel Shelley) who falls for the young villager, Bhuvan (Aamir Khan) who is also the love interest of Gauri (Gracy Singh). For a happy ending, one person has to step down and thus, the foreign beauty is sent back to England with just memories to cherish. Again, a love triangle where the typical Indian girl won the war of love.

Dil Toh Pagal Hai
Love triangle: Nisha – Rahul – Pooja

A love triangle, where Nisha (Karisma Kapoor) who is a cheerful and happy-go-lucky person, falls for her best friend, Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan). However, Rahul is attracted to the gorgeous and gleeful Pooja (Madhuri Dixit). So, what next? The friendzoned Nisha sacrifices her love and lets Rahul ride away with Pooja.

Barfi Love triangle: Shruti – Barfi – Jhilmil

A speech and hearing-impaired Barfi (Ranbir Kapoor) falls for the Bengali beauty, Shruti (Ileana D'cruz), who later is engaged to someone else. Barfi moves on in life and finds something that is equivalent to love with the autistic girl, Jhilmil (Priyanka Chopra). A quirky love story where the guy eventually fell for uniqueness and simplicity.
