During the 2019 Auto Remarketing Canada (ARC) Conference, I had the pleasure of congratulating ADESA Canada Engineering Manager Hilton Lee on his much-deserved recognition during the Remarketing’s Under 40 awards luncheon. I recently spoke with Hilton to learn more about him, his role, trends in mobile technology and his time working on products for ADESA and OPENLANE. What does a typical day as an engineering manager at ADESA look like? I am responsible for overseeing the OPENLANE mobile team and mobile application development. The mobile applications we have developed include the ADESA Marketplace app, OPENLANE private-label turn-in apps, image capture app (ICA) and self-inspection app (SIA). A typical workday for me includes checking with the team on status, facilitating major design discussions and working with the leadership team to resolve impediments. I work closely with the product and technical leaders on mobile strategy and plan. Recently, I also have had opportunities to extend my responsibilities to oversee some server-side teams and development. How has mobile technology evolved since you first started in the business?
