Many horror franchises come and go, but the Phantasm series of movies that started back in 1979 has been on that has not only had people screaming at the screen but also inspired many directors to get behind the camera and make their own horror movies.
From its deadly flying silver spheres through to its hooded dwarf minions, and of course, the towering figure of arch-villain The Tall Man himself, the imagery conjured up by the Phantasm films remains etched in the psyche of genre fans everywhere.
Now thanks to Arrow Video all five films have been brought together on Blu-ray! Including a brand new 4K restoration of Phantasm overseen by J.J. Abrams.
The series of movies features directors such as Don Coscarelli (Bubba Ho-Tep, John Dies at the End) and David Hartman (Godzilla: The Series, Transformers Prime), the films also include A. Michael Baldwin (The Pick-Axe Murders Part III: The Final Chapter, Brutal), Reggie Bannister (Bubba Ho-Tep, Not Another B Movie) and Angus Scrimm (Chopping Mall, Wishmaster, I Sell the Dead, John Dies at the End).
PHANTASM – Mike At Spacegate
This amazing box set features the 1979 original through to 2016’s Phantasm: Ravager, the five films which make up the Phantasm series follow the young Mike Baldwin as he battles against the enigmatic “Tall Man” – an extraterrestrial being intent on harvesting the human race as slaves for his home planet. Aided by friend Reggie and his trusty four-barrelled shotgun, Mike resolves to vanquish the Tall Man before he wipes out humanity altogether.
