WASHINGTON, Feb. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Chairman of the World Mercury Project (WMP), announced a $100,000 challenge today aimed at putting an end to including mercury, a neurotoxin that is 100 times more poisonous than lead, in vaccines administered in the U.S and globally.
Thimerosal, a mercury-containing preservative, is still in 48 million U.S. flu vaccines each year, tetanus toxoid, meningococcal vaccines and, in massive doses, in the pediatric vaccines given to 100 million children across the developing world. A Centers for Disease Control (CDC) review published last month found that the ethylmercury in thimerosal is as profoundly neurotoxic as the heavily regulated methylmercury in fish.
“On one hand, the government is telling pregnant women which mercury-laced fish to avoid so that they don’t harm their fetuses, and on the other, the CDC supports injecting mercury-containing vaccines into pregnant women, infants and children,” said Kennedy, who spent decades litigating polluters who dumped mercury into water systems. “This defies all logic and common sense.”
Kennedy stressed that, contrary to countless claims that he is “anti-vaccine” and wishes to end the country’s vaccination program; nothing could be further from the truth. He vaccinated all of his children and just wants safe vaccines.
Actor Robert De Niro, the parent of a vaccine-injured son, who also spoke at the press conference, is a supporter of the WMP whose vision is a world where mercury is no longer a threat to the health of our planet and people. The group focuses on making sound science the driver of public policy.
Toward that end, Kennedy announced the “World Mercury Project Challenge” to American journalists and others “who have been assuring the public about the safety of mercury in vaccines.”
Kennedy explained that the WMP will pay $100,000 to the first journalist, or other individual, who can find a peer-reviewed scientific study demonstrating that thimerosal is safe in the amounts contained in vaccines currently being administered to American children and pregnant women. Kennedy believes that even “a meager effort at homework” will expose that contention as unsupported by science. He says the science is unequivocal that mercury is a serious health hazard and exposure is linked to many different diseases and conditions (ADHD, Alzheimer’s, Acrodynia and Autism). Even studies listed by the CDC on its website, to exonerate thimerosal as an autism culprit, link thimerosal exposure to low IQ, diminished language and motor skills, and tics, a family of neurological disorders that includes Tourette Syndrome. A Yale University study published last week suggests a link between vaccines and tics, as well as anorexia and OCD.
And for those who say the science has been settled since Dr. Andrew Wakefield’s Lancet paper on the MMR vaccine and its role in causing autism was discredited, think again. The paper had nothing to do with thimerosal, which is not in the MMR vaccine.
In August 2014, CDC senior vaccine safety scientist Dr. William Thompson invoked federal whistleblower protection and confessed that CDC supervisors instructed vaccine scientists to destroy data linking vaccines to autism.
In 2004, an FDA official acknowledged in testimony before a Congressional committee that no government or privately funded study has ever demonstrated thimerosal’s safety, and that still stands today.
“It’s our hope that this challenge will elevate this important debate beyond name-calling and prompt a genuine examination of the relevant science. The American public is entitled to an honest, probing and vigorous discussion about this critical public health issue – a debate based on facts, not rooted in fear, or on blind faith in regulators and the pharmaceutical industry,” wrote Kennedy in a letter addressed to America’s reporters, journalists, columnists, editors, network anchors, on-air doctors and news division producers that was handed out at the press conference.

Robert Harward has been offered the national-security-adviser job — and if he takes it, he’ll bring in “his own team, from deputy on down, with a focus on national security types with some experience under their belts,” particularly people he worked with at the National Security Council under President George W. But whatever else you want to say about Christie (and I’ve always found him to be a more complicated and gifted politician than his detractors can stand to admit), the man knows how to bring focus to a political operation, and how to advance a governing agenda, and how to balance public bluster with backroom pragmatism.
And if there’s anyone on Trump’s senior staff who actually knows how to do any of that, by all means, get to the part of the ship that’s still above water and wave your hands frantically so we can see you.
I’m not saying Reince Priebus isn’t a decent guy in a difficult situation. But Priebus is a Wisconsin political operative who did a creditable job fundraising for the Republican Party. When it comes to running the vast federal government or navigating global alliances, he knows about as much as Omarosa.
Either Priebus deserves credit for assembling the rest of this misfit team or he’s too much of a supplicant to get control over staffing the operation. Whichever it is, he must know by now that he isn’t exactly fielding the A-team.

Why force yourself to fire another senior aide every few weeks or months, like a slow bleed? Better to replace poor Priebus now and let Christie deal with the unpleasantness of fixing things. (If there’s one thing Christie doesn’t mind, it’s unpleasantness.)
A chief of staff can elegantly reboot the system in a way a president can’t. A chief of staff can simply say: “I didn’t hire any of these guys, and I’m letting them go.” Done.
Look, it’s not my job to offer Trump advice on his presidency, and it’s not like he’d listen. Maybe it’s true that we’re all better off if the whole experiment craters in the first six months.
But that’s a pretty big risk to take, and if I were Trump, I’d call Christie back today and tell him I need some order and professionalism in the West Wing.

Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway is no longer welcome on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” co-host Mika Brzezinski declared Wednesday — blasting the Trump aide as “not credible anymore.”
“At times in recent days, Kellyanne Conway has struggled to be on the same page, to say the least, as the rest of the staff in the White House,” Brzezinski said, citing Conway’s contradictory TV interviews on short-lived national security adviser Michael Flynn’s exit.

Roger Stone, a longtime adviser and confidant to Donald Trump who has been named in news reports as one of at least four individuals under FBI observation over alleged contacts with Russian intelligence, has called for an official inquiry into the swirling crisis.
Stone has called on the White House to order an immediate investigation through the Department of Justice over alleged improper links between members of the Trump inner circle and the Kremlin during the course of the 2016 presidential campaign. His request adds to a mounting chorus of demands from senior congressional members and outside advocacy groups for an official inquiry into the affair.
In an interview with the Guardian, Stone appealed to Trump, whom he has been close to for almost 40 years, to convene an inquiry through Jeff Sessions, the newly appointed US attorney general. “The president should tell his attorney general that either he finds proof of this, or he puts it to bed and announces none of it happened.”

he scandal-hit bank that loaned hundreds of millions of dollars to Donald Trump has conducted a close internal examination of the US president’s personal account to gauge whether there are any suspicious connections to Russia, the Guardian has learned.
Deutsche Bank, which is under investigation by the US Department of Justice and is facing intense regulatory scrutiny, was looking for evidence of whether recent loans to Trump, which were struck in highly unusual circumstances, may have been underpinned by financial guarantees from Moscow.
The Guardian has also learned that the president’s immediate family are Deutsche clients. The bank examined accounts held by Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter, her husband, Jared Kushner, who serves as a White House adviser, and Kushner’s mother.
The internal review found no evidence of any Russia link, but Deutsche Bank is coming under pressure to appoint an external and independent auditor to review its business relationship with Trump.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The purge of Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn engineered by White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, formally the head of the Republican National Committee in Washington, is the “Pearl Harbor” for Trump loyalists – a devastating attack that determines for Trump supporters that Priebus, an elite GOP Washington insider, must go.
The concern among Trump loyalists is that now that Priebus has succeeded in getting rid of Flynn, his next targets will be Trump top advisors Steve Miller, Steve Bannon, and Kellyanne Conway – all of whom D.C. insiders are planning must go if Priebus is to succeed in sabotaging Trump’s revolutionary agenda.
Infowars has established that Priebus is the Chief Leaker in the White House, responsible for feeding the Trump-hating mainstream media that daily dominate the White House news room with “red meat,” including the demeaning leak to the Washington Post that Trump is “isolated,” a “clueless child,” wandering about in a bathrobe (that Trump does not own), who’s presiding over a “White House in disarray.”
Priebus, after ensconcing himself in the seat of power as White House Chief of Staff by promising Trump that he alone could manage renegade GOP leaders in Congress – including House Speaker Ryan and Senate Majority Leader McConnell – must be made to bear the full responsibility for mismanaging the failed rollout of Trump’s temporary immigration ban and for not containing the controversy over Flynn and the Russians.
But for Trump loyalists, who are sick of Priebus packing the White House with GOP establishment toadies and appointing as “acting head” agency chiefs still loyal to President Obama and Hillary Clinton, Flynn’s resignation was the last straw.
Determined to sweep house in a Priebus-created White House virtually devoid of Trump supporters, Trump loyalists have declared war and are demanding Priebus’ scalp.
Priebus has planted his own downfall, ignoring a commitment President-elect Trump made to former ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson that Tillerson would have the final say in reviewing the finalists for the top ten ambassador nominations.
Yet, two weeks ago, Priebus violated that agreement by taking to Trump directly a list of 15 names of top GOP donors who coveted the top ambassador appointments as prizes for their contributions to Priebus and the GOP.
Priebus’ downfall may well be his ill-advised attempt to advance the name of Duke Buchan on the list of losers Priebus has pushed Trump to nominate as ambassadors without so much as consulting with Secretary of State Tillerson.
According to the White House insiders, Tillerson was furious when he learned that Trump had approved Priebus’ recommendations, not aware Priebus had bypassed Tillerson in the nomination process. Even worse, without Tillerson’s approval, Priebus has switched on the final vetting process for the top GOP donors on his ambassador list – going so far as to assure Buchan he has Priebus’ personal assurance that Buchan will be nominated as U.S. ambassador to Spain.
Once again, Priebus is setting Trump up for a fall. Just wait until Trump’s numerous mainstream media enemies – who are still dominating the White House press room – and congressional Democrats realize Buchan is a failed hedge fund manager and serial tax evader who owned a company that was part of a lending syndicate Trump sued.
Consider the facts of Duke Buchan’s checkered business history.
Buchan’s $1 billion Hunter Global hedge fund was a high-flyer until the 2008 financial crisis, when Buchan took unrecoverable losses, forcing him to announce unceremoniously in December 2011 that he was shuttering his firm Hunter Global Investors LP.
Since then Buchan has spent a lot of time trying to evade taxes and not pay bills, claiming he intended to convert Hunter Global into a fund for family investments. Since the collapse of Hunter Global in 2011, Buchan has spent a lot of time trying to evade past debts.
Records that surfaced subsequently show that Hunter Global Investors Offshore Fund Ltd. registered in the Cayman Islands, famous as a destination for tax cheats, was put into “voluntary liquidation” on Dec. 4, 2012, given until Jan. 16, 2013 to resolve all debts before the company was thrown into default. Effectively declaring bankruptcy. Buchan’s active lawsuit against the Cayman Islands company could complicate this situation, if selected as ambassador.
On Jan. 15, 2017, Politico reported Buchan was mentioned in a 2006 Senate report on tax haven abuses that details a federal lawsuit by the Securities and Exchange Commission against billionaire brothers Sam Wyly and Charles Wyly for allegedly hiding $550 million in trading profits by using an “elaborate sham system” of offshore entities. As Politico noted, Buchan was named in the Senate report as a member of the board of directors of a company, Scottish Annuity & Life Holdings Ltd. that was allegedly used by the Wyly brothers in the scheme.
Perhaps the most shocking fact is that Priebus is asking Trump to back a guy who was an owner of a company called Newcastle Investment Corp that was one of the construction lenders Trump sued in 2008 in a controversy over the financing of a Riverfront Tower that Trump was building in Chicago.
Kevin Madden, a key strategist in Mitt Romney’s losing 2012 presidential campaign and a spokesperson for Buchan, has defended Buchan’s history as an investment manager.
“It’s important to understand that Mr. Buchan does not own companies,” Madden has argued. “His firm invests in publicly traded companies along with thousands of other individual and institutional investors.” Yet, an SEC filing in 2005 listed Buchan as a principal in the formation of Newcastle Investment Corp.
A ProPublica.org analysis of Buchan’s charity, The George and Sarah Buchan Foundation, found the foundation has claimed assets consistently averaging approximately $2 million in each year, with charitable disbursements reaching a high at only $46,269.00 in 2012, making questionable how much charity the foundation is accomplishing.
A 2015 prospectus filed with the SEC by Century Communities, Inc., a corporation engaged in the development, design, construction, and marketing of single-family homes in metropolitan areas in Colorado, Texas, Nevada, and Georgia, documents that Duke Buchan personally, the Buchan Family Trust, and Hunter Global Investors each owned common shares in the company.
The prospectus further shows that Buchan voted the common shares owned by himself and by Hunter Global Investors, with John Flournoy, Buchan’s father-in-law, voting shares held by the Buchan Family Trust – an arrangement suggesting Buchan co-mingled investments between the three Buchan-controlled investors, each with very different federal and state tax requirements.
As if using Cayman Island Tax Shelters and bogus foundations to evade taxes weren’t enough, court records show Buchan has sued a working class town in Dutchess County 12 times to contest his tax bill on a property he owns, even though he has three property tax exemptions that reduce his property’s assessment by over $1 million.
And to top it off, Buchan has tax warrants in the State of New York against his company, Hunter Global Investments, and a tax warrant in Albany County, New York against he and his wife.
Likewise, Priebus has a serial history of having undercut Trump throughout the 2016 presidential election campaign.
In October 2016, as the presidential campaign was entering its final weeks, Priebus, in reaction to the controversy over Trump’s lewd comments about women recorded in 2005, redirected RNC funds from Trump’s campaign, spending instead on down-ticket GOP candidates Priebus at that time thought were more likely than Trump to win.

Trump loyalists place Priebus next on chopping block

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The purge of Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn engineered by White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, formally the head of the Republican National Committee in Washington, is the “Pearl Harbor” for Trump loyalists – a devastating attack that determines for Trump supporters that Priebus, an elite GOP Washington insider, must go.
The concern among Trump loyalists is that now that Priebus has succeeded in getting rid of Flynn, his next targets will be Trump top advisors Steve Miller, Steve Bannon, and Kellyanne Conway – all of whom D.C. insiders are planning must go if Priebus is to succeed in sabotaging Trump’s revolutionary agenda.
Infowars has established that Priebus is the Chief Leaker in the White House, responsible for feeding the Trump-hating mainstream media that daily dominate the White House news room with “red meat,” including the demeaning leak to the Washington Post that Trump is “isolated,” a “clueless child,” wandering about in a bathrobe (that Trump does not own), who’s presiding over a “White House in disarray.”
Priebus, after ensconcing himself in the seat of power as White House Chief of Staff by promising Trump that he alone could manage renegade GOP leaders in Congress – including House Speaker Ryan and Senate Majority Leader McConnell – must be made to bear the full responsibility for mismanaging the failed rollout of Trump’s temporary immigration ban and for not containing the controversy over Flynn and the Russians.
But for Trump loyalists, who are sick of Priebus packing the White House with GOP establishment toadies and appointing as “acting head” agency chiefs still loyal to President Obama and Hillary Clinton, Flynn’s resignation was the last straw.
Determined to sweep house in a Priebus-created White House virtually devoid of Trump supporters, Trump loyalists have declared war and are demanding Priebus’ scalp.
Priebus has planted his own downfall, ignoring a commitment President-elect Trump made to former ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson that Tillerson would have the final say in reviewing the finalists for the top ten ambassador nominations.
Yet, two weeks ago, Priebus violated that agreement by taking to Trump directly a list of 15 names of top GOP donors who coveted the top ambassador appointments as prizes for their contributions to Priebus and the GOP.
Priebus’ downfall may well be his ill-advised attempt to advance the name of Duke Buchan on the list of losers Priebus has pushed Trump to nominate as ambassadors without so much as consulting with Secretary of State Tillerson.
According to the White House insiders, Tillerson was furious when he learned that Trump had approved Priebus’ recommendations, not aware Priebus had bypassed Tillerson in the nomination process. Even worse, without Tillerson’s approval, Priebus has switched on the final vetting process for the top GOP donors on his ambassador list – going so far as to assure Buchan he has Priebus’ personal assurance that Buchan will be nominated as U.S. ambassador to Spain.
Once again, Priebus is setting Trump up for a fall. Just wait until Trump’s numerous mainstream media enemies – who are still dominating the White House press room – and congressional Democrats realize Buchan is a failed hedge fund manager and serial tax evader who owned a company that was part of a lending syndicate Trump sued.
Consider the facts of Duke Buchan’s checkered business history.
Buchan’s $1 billion Hunter Global hedge fund was a high-flyer until the 2008 financial crisis, when Buchan took unrecoverable losses, forcing him to announce unceremoniously in December 2011 that he was shuttering his firm Hunter Global Investors LP.
Since then Buchan has spent a lot of time trying to evade taxes and not pay bills, claiming he intended to convert Hunter Global into a fund for family investments. Since the collapse of Hunter Global in 2011, Buchan has spent a lot of time trying to evade past debts.
Records that surfaced subsequently show that Hunter Global Investors Offshore Fund Ltd. registered in the Cayman Islands, famous as a destination for tax cheats, was put into “voluntary liquidation” on Dec. 4, 2012, given until Jan. 16, 2013 to resolve all debts before the company was thrown into default. Effectively declaring bankruptcy. Buchan’s active lawsuit against the Cayman Islands company could complicate this situation, if selected as ambassador.
On Jan. 15, 2017, Politico reported Buchan was mentioned in a 2006 Senate report on tax haven abuses that details a federal lawsuit by the Securities and Exchange Commission against billionaire brothers Sam Wyly and Charles Wyly for allegedly hiding $550 million in trading profits by using an “elaborate sham system” of offshore entities. As Politico noted, Buchan was named in the Senate report as a member of the board of directors of a company, Scottish Annuity & Life Holdings Ltd. that was allegedly used by the Wyly brothers in the scheme.
Perhaps the most shocking fact is that Priebus is asking Trump to back a guy who was an owner of a company called Newcastle Investment Corp that was one of the construction lenders Trump sued in 2008 in a controversy over the financing of a Riverfront Tower that Trump was building in Chicago.
Kevin Madden, a key strategist in Mitt Romney’s losing 2012 presidential campaign and a spokesperson for Buchan, has defended Buchan’s history as an investment manager.
“It’s important to understand that Mr. Buchan does not own companies,” Madden has argued. “His firm invests in publicly traded companies along with thousands of other individual and institutional investors.” Yet, an SEC filing in 2005 listed Buchan as a principal in the formation of Newcastle Investment Corp.
A ProPublica.org analysis of Buchan’s charity, The George and Sarah Buchan Foundation, found the foundation has claimed assets consistently averaging approximately $2 million in each year, with charitable disbursements reaching a high at only $46,269.00 in 2012, making questionable how much charity the foundation is accomplishing.
A 2015 prospectus filed with the SEC by Century Communities, Inc., a corporation engaged in the development, design, construction, and marketing of single-family homes in metropolitan areas in Colorado, Texas, Nevada, and Georgia, documents that Duke Buchan personally, the Buchan Family Trust, and Hunter Global Investors each owned common shares in the company.
The prospectus further shows that Buchan voted the common shares owned by himself and by Hunter Global Investors, with John Flournoy, Buchan’s father-in-law, voting shares held by the Buchan Family Trust – an arrangement suggesting Buchan co-mingled investments between the three Buchan-controlled investors, each with very different federal and state tax requirements.
As if using Cayman Island Tax Shelters and bogus foundations to evade taxes weren’t enough, court records show Buchan has sued a working class town in Dutchess County 12 times to contest his tax bill on a property he owns, even though he has three property tax exemptio
ns that reduce his property’s assessment by over $1 million.
And to top it off, Buchan has tax warrants in the State of New York against his company, Hunter Global Investments, and a tax warrant in Albany County, New York against he and his wife.
Likewise, Priebus has a serial history of having undercut Trump throughout the 2016 presidential election campaign.
In October 2016, as the presidential campaign was entering its final weeks, Priebus, in reaction to the controversy over Trump’s lewd comments about women recorded in 2005, redirected RNC funds from Trump’s campaign, spending instead on down-ticket GOP candidates Priebus at that time thought were more likely than Trump to win.
